View this email in your browser
Dear Friends,
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. As part of our effort to celebrate the victory of our nation 70 years ago, the inaugural National D-Day Memorial Golf Classic will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015. Participants will have a captain's choice format, a 10AM shotgun start, and handicaps won't be required. This event is designed to honor our nation's veterans and fallen heroes, and for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a day of fun and fellowship.
The event will be held on the Cascades Course, one of the finest mountain courses in the country. According to Golf Digest, the course is ranked among "America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses" and frequently tops the list of best Southern Courses including Golfweek magazine's #1 Virginia courses of 2015. Another interesting fact is that Sam Snead, who served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1944, launched his career at the Homestead.
Read more about the event in the current issue of Virginia Golfer magazine.
