AmericaServes
Network Updates

Good Afternoon,

The AmericaServes Team is committed to keeping key stakeholders apprised of progress. We’re excited to have two live networks and are eagerly anticipating the 'go-live' of PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh on 1 October.
  • As of 1 September, there are 1,003 unique veterans, service members, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the NYCServes Network.
  • As of 1 September, there have been 1,383 unique Vetfiles created to connect veterans, service members, and military families to services, resources, and care for which they are eligible. Currently, the top demands for services include employment (30% of requests), housing (28% of requests), benefits assistance (9% of requests), and legal assistance (9% of requests).
  • The NYCServes Network has officially completed 1/3 of its pilot demonstration goal of reaching 3,000 unique veterans, service members, and military families seeking services, resources and care!
  • As part of continuous process improvement, our technology partner, Unite US has integrated a live chat functionality for the NYCServes and NCServes Coordination Centers. This advancement enables the Coordination Center team to have live interaction with individuals at the point of entry onto the NYCServes website.
  • NCServes-Metrolina began its soft 'go-live' on 1 August and has already experienced tremendous success with provider adoption and utilization of the Network. Both the NCServes-Metrolina Coordination Center and Network Providers are well prepared for a hard 'go-live' on 1 September (today!) that will include social media and advertising.
  • As of 1 September, there are 82 unique veterans, service members, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the NCServes-Metrolina Network.
  • As of 1 September, there have been 172 unique Vetfiles created to connect veterans, service members, and military families to services, resources, and care for which they are eligible. Currently, the top demands for services include employment (27% of requests), housing (19% of requests), financial assistance (15% of requests), and healthcare (12% of requests).
  • We are thrilled to announce that the North Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs (NCDVA) NC4VETS and NCServes have established a strategic public/private partnership. This effort will align resources at the state and local level and provide a critical entry point into NCServes through the NCDVA hotline (1.844.NC4.VETS). Please check out the press release
  • The PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh Coordination Center has been hard at work as they prepare the Network Providers for a soft 'go-live' on 1 October. During the week of 24 August, the Coordination Center and Unite US hosted a series of webinars to finalize intake fields with Network Providers. This enables the Coordination Center and Network Providers to capture adequate data to make trusted referrals.
  • Unite US and the PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh Coordination Center will be hosting technology training for Network Providers during the week of 14 September.
  • In an effort to increase learning, collaboration, and best practices among the AmericaServes Networks, the NCServes - Metrolina Coordination Center hosted leaders from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Charleston, South Carolina. These leaders will help transform how AmericaServes gets to scale and how veterans, service members, and military families can be impacted at a macro level.
AmericaServes Expansion
  • Congress has introduced a bipartisan bill aimed at obtaining federal funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs for the sustainment of local AmericaServes Networks. If passed, the legislation will subsidize the long term sustainability and scaling of community-based collective impact programs aimed at improving services and care for veterans and military families across the country.
  • IVMF is pleased to announce expansion into Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina in early October. We'll kick off with a series of strategy sessions and have integrated efficiencies that will enable us to prepare these markets for go-live more quickly. If you have recommendations for providers and key leaders to include in these strategy sessions, please contact us
  • IVMF, with support from the Walmart Foundation, will be launching a nine-city tour to socialize AmericaServes and collective impact. This tour, starting in San Antonio on 30 September, will be an opportunity to amplify the leadership exhibited in our existing markets and identify the conditions for expanding an AmericaServes market in each of the nine identified cities.
  • At the end of September, IVMF will launch Military Cultural Proficiency 101. This prerequisite to all other courses will provide community-based providers with expert level content pertaining to the culture, values, and organizational structure of the United States Armed Forces. In addition, the course will deliver content that focuses on the specific challenges facing veterans and their families and will ultimately provide tools and skills training to help providers better serve this population. The course will be accessible to AmericaServes providers through the IVMF website. Please contact us with questions.
  • Unite US has made substantial care coordination software upgrades that include providing each organization with its own real-time reporting to track demographics, outcomes, service utilization, and inbound/outbound referrals. This data is also aggregated up to the Network level and allows for real-time analysis aimed at improving and developing network operations.
