Hello fellow readers,

The past three days have been a time of relaxation for all of us. After all, during Labor Day weekend, what else can you do?

Of course, I won't be finding myself relaxing for too long. I'm going to take this opportunity to study the material for my upcoming classes. It's only been the first three weeks and my load is already huge. That's what happens when you're in college. You enter the halls and you're officially back at work.

This new newsletter is a collection of the latest things going on in the commnunity. From the release of two new web series to new pieces of publishing entering the literary scene, I have to admit that it's been to keep up with everything. But I managed to put together a couple of things that I think will appeal to everyone.

Hope you guys will enjoy and share this latest issue. Enjoy your Labor Day!

Sincerely,

Roque Caston

Hiding My Marijuana Scent On Campus

My personal barber came to my apartment one day to cut my hair again. I always look forward to our little mini get togethers. When it comes to relationships there is nothing like one between a man and his barber. You can't describe it. People, especially men, knows exactly what I'm talking about.

A new series has hit the web and the first episode has already got me laughing. If you are a fan of web series like I am, you should definitely check this one out. People, especially New Yorkers, can definitely relate to this story.

I Hate New York is the story about a guy who's trying to pursue his dreams of being a respected/professional vlogger and survive in the Big City, but failing at both.

The series is presented by The Each-Other Project, an organization aiming to provide visibility and community for queer men of diversity through art and activism. We work as a platform to build a safe and relevant space for expression within our community. Visit www.TheEachOtherProject.com.

The series certainly portrays another side of New York like we haven't seen on screen lately. There is a raw, honest, funny side that we are all too familiar with. Click below to check out the first episode. Be sure to share, comment, and subscribe as well.

Producer, reality personality, and Essence magazine columnist Nathan Hale Williams has officially stepped into a new territory in the field of publishing. He recently released his debut novel Ladies Who Lunch & Love.

The novel tells the story of is the story of four fabulous New York society women navigating life and love while sharing their gay best friend. Over the course of a year, our narrator and the ladies go on a journey that forces them to examine their lives and choices, yet enjoying the glamorous side of NYC living like you’ve never before seen.

If you haven't, you certainly should pick up your copy. It's available on Amazon.com

New York Times bestselling author Augusten Burroughs has returned to the literary scene with the release of his seventh memoir Lust & Wonder. The man who is known for giving you, raw, funny, dark, emotional storytelling from his previous memoirs such as "Running With Scissors and A Wolf at the Table is giving another peak into his life when it hits bookshelves March 29, 2016.

In his new memoir, Burroughs chronicle the development and demise of the different relationships he's had while living in New York. He examines what it means to be in love, what it means to be in lust, and what it means to be figuring it all out.
Filmmaker Nancy Meyers has written and/or directed a lot of my personally favorite movies such as "The Parent Trap," "The Holiday," "Something's Gotta Give," and "It's Complicated."

Now she is back with the release of her new upcoming film "The Intern." It stars Academy Award winners Robert Dinero and Anne Hathaway. It's a film about Anne's character Jules Austin, the founder and CEO of a fashion based e-commerce company, agreeing to do a community outreach program where a senior, Ben Whittaker suddenly agrees to work at her film instead of living the rest of his life in retirement.

If I know anything about Nancy Meyers' writing and film imagery, she will give us another moving picture that will make us laugh and think about life in quite a suttle, yet serious way. What makes this so exciting to me is that it comes out on my birthday weekend.

Catch the trailer using the link below. The film comes out on September 25th.
