Valley of Hastings, NE, Fundraising Programs Serve Community & VMAP

VMAP Subject Area 8, Philanthropy & Public Image, tasks Valleys with conducting fundraising programs for Orient or Valley-specific charities (i.e. scholarships, RiteCare®, etc.). Below are two such events in the Valley of Hastings, Nebraska.

Spaghetti Feed
The Hastings Valley Annual Spaghetti Feed Dinner was a great success! They sold 166 tickets, and volunteers served spaghetti, sauce, and bread- sticks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hastings Masonic Center. In addition to dine-in dinners, volunteers also provided more than 100 carryout meals to families. When all was said and done, the Valley raised $2,458!

The Spaghetti Feed owes a debt of gratitude to the following*:
  • Bill “Doc” Carson, 32° KCCH, Chair
  • Bob Scott, 32°
  • RiteCare® Clinician Emily Johnson & her daughter Madeline
  • Monte Malouf, 33°
  • Steve Chapman
  • Phil Odom, 33°, and Dana Odom
  • Gertrude Kuehn
Plans are already in the works for the 2016 Spaghetti Feed”!

Walk for RiteCare®
The 2015 Valley of Hastings “Walk For RiteCare®” is scheduled for Saturday, September 19. If you are in the area, mark your calendar and join us. Many of us enjoy this wonderful walk through town, which benefits a great cause—and you even can bring your furry family members with you!†
