                          Attracting the best

High staff turnover and a poor industry perception have been major challenges for the UK’s hospitality industry for decades.  But it’s vital we attract talented individuals and highlight the real career opportunities.  We’re tackling this issue head-on.  With funding from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, we’re working with six local hotels to address career progression and employment issues using the service-profit-chain principle.
We’ll be sharing our results but you can read more HERE

Are young people less connected to the coast?

Bournemouth is fortunate in having a thriving student population giving the resort a fresh vibe. But the 18-35 age group is actually under-represented among coastal visitors nationally, so we’ve commissioned research to find out why – what are their perceptions, how well do they know resorts, do they have fond memories and what to do they want to do when they’re by the sea?  To ensure this isn’t a lost generation, we’ll use the results to make recommendations for product development, branding and marketing to drive growth.
