Millbrook Library will be CLOSED Saturday, September 5th and Monday, September 7th in honor of Labor Day.

Chair Yoga with Dana Lucas 
Thursdays September 10 through October 8 at 10:15 am

Stretch and open your body while relaxing your mind.  No prior yoga experience necessary.  Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement and bring a thick towel or cushion and water.

2015 Community Day
Saturday, September 12
Bring your children by the Library on Community Day to check out our BIG TRUCKS on Friendly Lane for children to explore. There will be photo ops galore (and cookies and lemonade too)!
Reception for September Gallery Artist Emily Fuller
Saturday, September 12 @ 2 pm

During the month of September, The Gallery at the Millbrook Library will be showing works by Emily Rutgers Fuller. Emily works as both an abstract and realist artist who has been influenced by the landscapes of the Harlem Valley and Northeast Dutchess County. 

There will be a reception to meet the artist on Saturday September 12th from 2-4 pm.

Estate Planning & Elder Law

Lotus Flower Lantern Craft Workshop 
Wednesday, September 23 at 6 pm
The members of the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will be on hand to help you make a lovely lotus flower lantern using colorful paper and wire frames. A short documentary film on Korean artistic tradition will be shown as an introduction on the aesthetics of Korea.

Korean traditional refreshments will be served.

Sunday, September 27 

Join us at Walbridge Farm for the 2nd Annual Muckrush, to benefit the Millbrook Library.  There will be a 1/2 mile kids Muckrush (ages 4-8) at 9:30 am, a one-mile Muckrush obstacle course at 10 am, and a 5K Cross Country Run at 11 am.  Register online at

Remembering the End of the
Second World War
September 2, 1945
Stop in and check out our featured book display for September--highlighting fiction and non-fiction books about World War II, which ended 70 years ago this month.
Friends of the Millbrook Library
The Friends of the Millbrook Library are off and running! The Friends were the featured organization at the Millbrook Farmer's Market on August 22, and spent the morning handing out books and tote bags, and promoting the great things staff and volunteers are doing at the Library. The Friends' next meeting is Wednesday, September 9 at 4 pm. They would love to see you there!

Reading with Wrigley                          grades 1 – 5                 NEW!
Thursday, September 24                     3:30  -  4:30 pm
Wrigley the Therapy Dog is coming to the Millbrook Library!  Read a book with Wrigley and his handler, Caroline Reichenberg.  Bring a favorite book to read or pick one out at the library. 
Registration is required.  Sign up for a 15-20 minute session.

“Page Turners” Mystery Book Club   grades 3 – 5                NEW!
Monday, September 28                        3:30  -  4:30 pm
The “Page Turners” will meet every Monday for 7 weeks.  The Club will be reading 1 book (a few chapters each week).   Club members will receive the book at the first meeting.  Snack served.  Registration is required.
 
LEGO Building                                       ages 4 to 14
Wednesday, September 30                   6:15 – 7:30pm
Get together with friends and build with LEGOs. You supply the creativity, we’ll supply the LEGOs.     Registration required.
   
 
Teen Programs
Teen Café                            grades 6th to 12th
Friday, September 11          2:30 – 4:00 pm

Chill with friends after school at the Teen Café.  Wii games, board games, music, wi-fi, FOOD!  The Teen Café is in the newly remodeled Community Room downstairs in the Library. 



Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film Making for ages 10-16

In this intensive workshop, teens/tweens work to script, storyboard, film, and edit their own original Science Fiction/Fantasy narrative short. Special focus will be given to special effects. Possible projects include ghost movies, superhero movies, or movies about magic.
