Now is the season of plenty! Stock up!
Belfast Farmers' Market

Now is the season of plenty!

Order veggies in bulk from your farmer and stock up

Peacemeal Farm: This week we’ll have your 20-pound boxes of tomatoes for canning, freezing and turning into other goodies to be enjoyed this winter.  Send us a message at peacemeal@midmaine.com to reserve your box.  Supplies may be limited in upcoming weeks, so get your order in for this week!  We will also continue to have 20-pound boxes of pickling cucumbers available, but just like the tomatoes, they will soon be a distant memory.

This is the last week that Appleton Creamery will have everyone's favorite chevre in basil and pine nuts. Did you know that it freezes really well? Stockpile enough for the winter! Send us a message to appletoncreamery@gmail.com if you'd like to order extra this week. And like those cukes and tomatoes, will soon be a distant memory.

Burke Hill Farm has 5- and 10-lb boxes of blueberries available that are freezer ready!

Blueberry fields forever!

Harvest is over and Highland Organics will be at market on Friday!  Yay! We can't wait to fill our spot again this week. So to show you how much we missed you, the first 10 people that stops by our booth to say hello gets either a hot tea, any flavor or a cold blueberry drink FREE! See you at the market!  Also, we have a new tea flavor that we will be bringing with us, wild harvested chaga with Anise Hyssop, grown for us by Sandy & John Spinney of Half Moon Farm.

Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery won't be at market this week. Please join us at the Union Fair's, Maine Wine Pavilion. We are offering fair goers the opportunity to try wines from around the state as well as local beer, spirits and cider.

FireFlower Farm: Here are some of the flowers that went into last week's bouquets. There should be even more this week, plus the dahlias, calendulas and celosia. Loads of color and beauty.
If you should need flowers during the week call me at 568-3736. Tuesday and Wednesday are big rebloom days, so call by Monday or Tuesday. Delivery may be possible on Wednesdays in Belfast for a small fee or you can pick up here in Thorndike on the farm.

From Carol's Collectibles Some interesting Late Summer/Fall Shrubs showing their colors.
Callicarpa 'Issai' (Beautiberry), Clematis heracleifolia 'Davidiana '(Shrub Clematis), Hydrangea paniculata 'Pinky Winky' and Hydrangea paniculata 'Little Lamb'.
