What do you do when you wanna record a rock album and feel like maybe you could do something kinda cool and interesting with it instead of just wack some mics up in the bedroom? Go to America and do it with Calvin Johnson from Beat Happening, of course. Screw Albini, you gotta get groovy, y'know? Hiatus Kaiyote are pretty much the band right now and I couldn't recommend them more highly – pop melodies and insane jazz structures make them Melbourne and Australia's most intriguing band. They exploded onto the scene in 2012 with debut album Tawk Tomahawk and now they're back bringing their R&B, soul-infused sophomore release Choose Your Weapon.
