How is your prayer time going? Don't forget about our prayer walk and lunch this Saturday (11:00 am-1:00 pm)

I can't believe we are over half way done with our 21 days of prayer. I hope this has been a rich time of connection with God for you. For me, it has truly been amazing... Hard but deep.

John 14:26 tells us the Holy Spirit will teach us all things, and how to pray is included in that. That has been my desire. That the Spirit really will show me how to pray according to God's will and not my own, and for God's glory instead of my own.  As I pray for our community and you, I am excited about God's work in our lives and what he is doing and going to do through us in Grove Park. There's a breakthrough coming... I feel it is right on the edge, and boy do I ever want to be a part of it.

Reminder dates. Please note

  • Prayer Walk and Lunch. Saturday August 29th, 11-1:00 pm.  We will gather on Evelyn and split up to cover various streets based on how many people show up. After an hour of prayer walking we will end up at 1226 Cafe for lunch (They have great salads)
  • Envision Shalom Dinner. Saturday August 29th, 6-8pm. Iverson's homeThis is for folks who have still not had a chance to hear our story and vision for the Church plant. We would love to have you in our home to eat and watch our presentation. Please let me know if you want to come so Kimberly knows how much food to make.
  • Cook Out Saturday September 5th 6:00-8:00 pm. (Location Changed to Grove Park Pavilion) We will break the “fast” with another Potlock and a time of fellowship. It was suggested we do it at Grove Park Pavilion by the Tennis courts so we can grill out and kids can play on playground while we all talk and share “Shalom Stories” of what God is doing in our community. Please RSVP with what you can bring and if you have a grill, please consider bringing that as well.

Please invite your neighbors to this cook out. I'd love for more people to be able to hear some of the stories of what God is up to.

I am excited as we continue to share life with each other and discover more of who Jesus is and what it looks like to shine His light into our community.

In Christ,
Danny

*Shalom is the Hebrew word for holistic peace. It is a word used throughout Scripture to describe the absolute joy, flourishing, fulfillment, and bliss found in the presence of God, and the beautiful interdependent relationships God’s people eternally share with Him, each other, and all of creation. Shalom is what has come into the world through Christ, and is made complete when Christ returns and fully eradicates sin and death forever. God is glorified as Shalom happens. We have a mission as God’s people to discover and display the Shalom of God’s Kingdom to this hurting world by faithfully proclaiming the Gospel in WORD and DEED as we share life with our neighbors and seek the peace of Atlanta.
