SwingColumbus Announces It's 2nd Annual Summer Celebration on 9/20!
Come to SwingColumbus's annual Summer Celebration- a social event with tasty food and drinks, our very own swing dance related games, and plenty of time to hang out with your fellow dancers.

There will be a catered lunch at 1pm. Please bring a snack or dessert to share!

The Rocktober Lindy Workshop weekend is the original North American intensive lindy hop workshop.
Featuring Kevin and Jo, Bobby and Kate, and Christian Frommelt and Jenny Shirar!
Your weekend pass includes intimate workshops with hand-picked instructors, outstanding live music, and all new venues!
Once again, we will be offering four tracks, two competitions, and the option for a catered lunch. We heard you loud and clear last year, and we're offering customized zip hoodies to purchase at registration!

SwingColumbus September Lesson Series
The September Lesson Series will be taught by Shannon Varner and Mark Calkins and will occur on the first 4 Tuesdays of September from September 1- September 22 2015 at Awaken Church located at 296 W 4th Ave, Columbus Ohio 43201. The intermediate lesson is from 7-8PM and the beginner lesson is from 815-9PM. There will be open dancing and practice time from 8-815PM

Intermediate Lesson Series - Lindy Hop with Shannon Varner and Mark Calkins-Mark and Shannon will go through the fundamentals of footwork, connection, momentum, and dynamics to help you to unlock the next level of your dancing. We will share our techniques of working from the basics to build upon the vocabulary you know, and show you how to add new moves and variations. Whether you are striving to be the best dancer you can, or breaking into the next level at your next workshop, or hoping to compete at Rocktober, this is the class for you. Beginner Lesson Series - Lindy Hop with Shannon Varner and Mark Calkins -Lindy Hop is the vintage swing dance of the 1940's, and now is your chance to learn it from scratch. Shannon Varner and Mark Calkins will start with the fundamentals and teach you everything you need to know to start lindy hopping! No experience necessary and no partner necessary! They will teach several of the basic moves, the Swingout, the Lindy circle, with some variations in the later weeks. Many people take the Beginning Lindy Hop session several times, to build confidence with the 8-count basics.
Cost of each lesson series is $45 for the general public and $40 for members/students. Come to both lessons and take advantage of our double dip pricing by paying $75 for the general public or $65 for members/students. SwingColumbus is a community-driven collaboration of people who just love to dance. All of the organizers volunteer their time to run dances, teach workshops, DJ, maintain the web site, and communicate with the public about upcoming events. All are welcome and none are turned away.
