Partnership Insight: CEES & DPW
CEES and Don Miller and Brenda Howard with Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) - Land Stewardship have had a long standing partnership.  CEES Service Learning currently helps DPW with preventative maintenance including replanting native plant species and removing invasive species.  Read more!

Meet Dr. Julia Angstmann: New Director of CUE at Butler
Dr. Julia Angstmann joined the Center for Urban Ecology (CUE) at Butler in June of 2015, and she is incredibly excited about many of the ongoing programs as well as future endeavors and partnerships with CEES!  Read more here about her future goals here
Aerial Photography & Flood Events
Record-setting rainfall amounts in Summer 2015 provided opportunities to capture aerial photography while streams were out of their banks.  These aerial images are useful in helping defining flood margins.  Learn more here
CEES at BugFest!
Friend of CEES, Jan Lesniak, has volunteered to host a station at this year’s annual Bug Fest focusing on bat education and conservation. Bug Fest is a celebration of bugs taking place at Southeastway Park on August 30 from 1 – 5 p.m. CEES is happy to help in this endeavor! Read more here.
White River Festival 2015
Mark your calendars now for the White River Festival and Alliance running Sept 11-27! On Sept 18, IUPUI's Student Sustainability Council, Center for Earth and Environmental Science at IUPUI, and FISH - Fishable Indiana Streams for Hoosiers will co-sponsor an event as part of the White River Festival - join us to take a tour of the Lilly ARBOR property and watch the award-winning documentary, DamNation.  Find out more details on the Facebook Event Page!
INPAWS Annual Conference 2015

INPAWS members gather every November for a full day to engage in learning about native plants!  CEES is partnering with INPAWS to host the annual conference on November 14, 2015 at the IUPUI University Tower (Hine Hall). Conference registration opens September 1.   IUPUI students are invited to present a poster or attend this year's conference, and students can register for a reduced rate of $25! Learn more here.

Make Change Indy

Monroe Lake Shoreline Cleanup                     Sunday, September 13 at 1:30 p.m.
Salt Creek SRA on Monroe Lake

We need your help to clean up the mess and restore our lake shore to an inviting habitat for both people and wildlife. Volunteers are invited to a free thank you cookout after the event! Volunteer registration deadline is September 9.
 
Weekly Farm Stand at the CUE Farm at Butler University
Since 2010, the Center for Urban Ecology (CUE) at Butler University, in partnership with Butler students, faculty and staff, have led the establishment of a campus farm. The CUE farm serves as an example of sustainable urban farming for Butler University and the Indianapolis community by teaching the interconnectedness of life, the importance of food security, and the methods of growing local, organic food. The CUE Farm sells produce to local restaurants, through a CSA program, and at a weekly farm stand.
Weekly farm stand hours:

Thursdays from 4-6pm

Location: South side of the Butler Athletic Fields
