Time to have your say on mental health funding

If you want to see better mental health services, let the Government know by signing the petition on mental health funding in Budget 2016. The petition is part of the Invest in my mental health campaign and calls for an additional €35 million for community mental health services in 2016.

What the campaign calls for:

1. An additional €35 million for community mental health services in 2016, including for children and adolescents
2. Investment in counselling and psychology services
3. Funding for mental health promotion in primary and secondary schools
4. Funding for designated housing for people with mental health difficulties

Sign the petition here.

The campaign so far:

Volunteers from Finglas Mental Health Support Group, Gateway Mental Health Association and Suaimhneas Clubhouse in Coolock helped to launch the campaign on Tuesday 25th August.

The launch was covered by The Irish Times and Newstalk's Breakfast (beginning of podcast) and Lunchtime (one third through podcast) Shows. Drivetime on RTE Radio 1 also interviewed MHR's Shari McDaid and a number of volunteers at the launch - well worth a listen.

The campaign runs until Budget Day on 13th October 2015. Until then, please spread the word and share the petition link.
