Company Insolvency in UK
by

According to UK Insolvency Law, Insolvency arises when individuals or companies have insufficient assets to cover their debts, or are unable to pay them when they are supposed to.  Otherwise in the UK the term “bankruptcy” is used for the formal procedure for individuals (not companies) who are declared by the court to be insolvent.

Company insolvency applies to incorporated companies (including limited liability partnerships) and it can be dealt with through a variety of legal processes, including liquidation (which results in the company ceasing to exist); or through company rescue procedures such as administration.

Unfortunately it’s a common step in the life of a lot of companies, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the dissolution of the company or the end of its activities. The most important point is to act fast and properly, and to contact an experienced Insolvency Practitioner who will be able to advise you how to deal with the company’s problems.
