Somerset House: A New Festival Venue

This year we are delighted to partner with Somerset House, one of the Capital's most beloved centres for arts and culture, to provide a brand new destination for design during the Festival.

Within its historic surrounds take in displays from internationally-renowned designers, explore work by the 2015 winners of the British Land Celebration of Design Awards and see the power of social media in action with a presentation of winning entries from a competition held with Twitter. To whet your appetite, watch our interview with one the Ten Designers in the West Wing, Ross Lovegrove with KEF.

Ten Designers in the West Wing

To mark our new partnership with Somerset House, we're launching an exhibition of the work of ten celebrated designers within the recently renovated areas of the building's West Wing.

The ten invited designers - including Jasper Morrison, Patternity, Alex Rasmussen, nendo and Faye Toogood - will create thought-provoking and innovative individual room installations, many in collaboration with a design brand. The exhibition is a showcase of creativity and the very best in contemporary design and production.

Nendo shows off their 'nest' shelving series, while British designers Barber & Osgerby will create a relaxed reading room where visitors can peruse the pair's new book. California-based Rasmussen brings a little bit of the Pacific Ocean to London with a giant anodised-aluminium wave.

Bouroullec x Samsung

Somerset House plays host to the worldwide release of a new, top-secret screen-based electronic device by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Samsung. We can't say much about the product itself, but we can say that it is sure to be exciting.
