New programs at the Verdant Community Wellness Center — please join us!
This fall, we are offering new classes and programs to support our community's health and well-being. Our most popular classes to date have been nutrition and healthy cooking demonstrations, so we have responded by adding more of these types of classes to our offerings this fall. Several new classes are linked under "Events" to the right, but there are many more on our website calendar.

Parent advocates needed for Immunity Community program
As a parent, are you interested in being a voice to support vaccinations in your school or child care community?  The Immunity Community work of WithinReach is expanding to Snohomish County, and they are looking for volunteer parent advocates to be trained to talk about vaccines.

Preventing suicide: Reaching out and saving lives
Every 13 minutes one person commits suicide. In fact, suicide is one of the leading causes of death among 15-24 year olds. Sept. 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day, so we are sharing the signs and info on how to support someone at risk.

Exotic Flavors Cooking Class: Middle Eastern Cuisine
Chef Adam Pazder from Swedish Edmonds is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, and he is passionate about cooking full-flavored, restaurant-style meals that are healthy for the whole family. This class is offered at two times the same evening, and it will focus on flavors from the Middle East.

Counting Calories & Cash: Easy Recipes for Your Family
Attend a “virtual grocery store tour” led by a registered dietitian from PacMed's Living Well Alliance Program and learn about label reading, healthy eating on a budget, new approaches to healthy meals and new foods to try.
