SEPTEMBER 2015
Dear <<First Name>>,
Stage One of Missions: Learning and Surviving while building Relationships!
What may seem like an inconvenience can really be an opportunity. In renting an older home, there is always something that can go wrong. Things that do not work properly like a toilet, electric sockets or the doorbell can add to the stress factors of all that is entailed with
acquiring a visa, managing furniture delivery issues, and doing just about everything different in a foreign language and culture while caring for three children.

However, I have had wonderful conversations about the Lord with the electrician, deliveryman, and the manager (Alan) of our home that we are renting. Alan just gave me a book about Jesus that he and the owner of our home (Jean-Claude) read, and they both are interested in what I think about the book. Please pray for the hearts of Alan and also Jean-Claude to be open to the Gospel. Please also pray that our French increases quickly so we can function well in the French-speaking world in need of Christ.

As we approach the fall we are doing everything to get ready to focus on full time language learning. Although I (James) can speak French in conversations, I do not have enough vocabulary or the ability to teach or preach in formal environments. I will be attending a full time French language school in walking distance from our home.

Julia is working with a private tutor (photo above), French learning programs, and whatever else we find effective in her learning process. The kids are already understanding some French, asking to pray before bedtime in French and responding to questions. Even Wesley is saying "au revoir" and "bonjour" and "merci".

Thank you for your continued prayers and support! We are grateful for your love for our family and encouragement. God is answering your prayers daily as He guides us here. We are truly grateful to you for being such a vital part of our lives through the years and as we partner together in serving our Lord Jesus in France.

Love in Christ,

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now."
