Perfect Poppies
Make your own poppy to wear to celebrate the ending of our World War I exhibition and to
commemorate Remembrance Day on 11 November.

Library Survey
The library is currently undertaking a survey to help us measure the impact we have on your lives and the greater community of Armadale. Surveys are a great way for us to improve our services and to justify our value and worth. Please consider taking 3-5 minutes of your time and help out your local library.

Board Game Tutoring
Board games engage the imagination, promote creativity and can be both challenging and fun.
 
Michael Cogan will host a series of free workshops, teaching the ins and outs of a few select designer board games including; Ticket to Ride, King of Tokyo and Qwirkle.
 
Saturdays from 1pm at Armadale Library
26 September and 3, 10, 24 & 31 October
Participate or just watch - no bookings required. Suitable for people aged eight to 108. For further information call 9394 5125.

Universe in a box!
Wednesday 30 September, 2.30 - 3.30pm
at Armadale Library


Explore the universe at an activity session with a young astronomer from the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research. Ask your burning questions about space and learn more  about the Solar System and Astronomy. 
 
Suitable for  children five to 10 years.
 
This inspiring Australian initiative is supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.

The Mental Health Benefits of Laughter
In recognition of Mental Health Week, the City of Armadale is proud to present the following Positive Ageing Session:

NaNoWriMo Introductory Session

Whether you are an aspiring amateur or professional writer, the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) introductory session presented by local author, Rebecca Laffar-Smith will outline how you can be involved and what events and activities are coming up. You will also learn about the Write-Ins which are an integral part of NaNoWriMo. 

This is a great opportunity to meet fellow writers, learn more about the Armadale Writers’ Group, and discover how your favourite libraries are supporting writers in the community.

Family History Research
Do you want to find out more about your family's  history?
 
Our Birtwistle Local Studies Library has some wonderful volunteers who can help you get started, or provide fresh insight into a difficult search.

Assistance with your family history research is available every Tuesday afternoon and the first and third Thursday of every month.
