Jo Becker attended Pearson College from 1980-1982. After a year in China and finishing her BA in the Midwest, she moved to New York, where she pursued a career in the non-profit sector focused on children’s rights advocacy. She works at Human Rights Watch and also founded the international Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers. She has conducted field investigations on children’s rights all over the world and has assisted international and government entities with her expertise. She is a well published writer and author of an award-winning book, Campaigning for Justice: Human Rights Advocacy in Practice. She also teaches human rights advocacy at Columbia University. Emilie Gruchow is an archivist at the Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum in Harlem Heights, NYC. She is responsible for the upkeep of historic manuscripts, photographs and rare books, and has overseen major fundraising and digitization campaigns. She hosts and liaises with researchers, students, and film-makers at the historic mansion museum, which dates back to 1765 and counts as Manhattan's oldest private residence. Her studies have been focused on American legal history at the City College of New York, where she has won awards for her work. (UWC Armand Hammer ‘00)

Giorgio Topa is a vice president in microeconomic studies at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He works on primary research in applied microeconomics, labor economics and econometrics. His recent interests include labor market dynamics and consumer expectations. Giorgio has also worked as an assistant professor at New York University. He graduated with a PhD from the University of Chicago and a BA from Universita' di Venezia. (UWC Adriatic ’85)

Michael Zeltkevic is a partner and head of Oliver Wyman’s Financial Services practice for the Americas. He advises clients on business strategy (including corporate finance, acquisitions, and divestitures), treasury and balance sheet management, business process optimization, sales force and distribution management, and the full spectrum of risk and capital management issues. His work involves financial institutions including banks, mortgage companies, securities firms, and central banks, based all around the world. Michael holds an M.S.E. degree in Chemical Engineering from the MIT, and degrees in chemical engineering and biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. (UWC Adriatic ’93)

Dave Shepherd is director of college advancement at United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA), a K1 through Grade 12 non-profit international school in Singapore. Dave leads the department of college advancement, which oversees fundraising, the UWCSEA Foundation, alumni relations and corporate relations. Dave is also an active member of the international Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). He has been a member of faculty for the Asia Pacific Institute of Educational Fundraising (2010-2014), the CASE Philanthropy Commission (2010-2013) and is currently a member of the CASE Asia – Pacific Advisory Council.

Jens Waltermann became executive director of UWC International in July 2015. As an alumnus of Pearson College ’83, he credits his UWC experience for guiding many of the important decisions he has made in his life. After UWC, Jens studied at The Goethe University in Frankfurt, where he studied law. He later studied at Harvard University’s Kennedy School, where he attained a Master’s in Public Administration. In 2008, he took on the role of chair for the German UWC national committee. From 2010 onwards, he worked with UWC partners and the Bosch Foundation on the building of UWC Robert Bosch College in Freiburg, Germany.
