And the 2016 Major Production is....

Van Badham's Black Hands

'They bought guns, robbed banks, engaged in battles with police, kidnapped prominent citizens and bombed US army bases in an urban guerrilla campaign that lasted 10 years. They believed they were revolutionaries; the government condemned them as terrorists.

History remembers them as the Baader-Meinhof Gang. Winner of the 2005 Queensland Premier’s Award for Best Drama, Van Badham’s play explores the student’s idealistic beginnings, their violent end and everything in between.'

Congratulations to the production team! We can't wait to see the production unfold over the next year.

SUDS PRESENTS: Manic Pixie Dream World

16-19th Sept | 7pm | The Cellar Theatre

Boy meets Girl. Boy likes Girl. Girl likes facts, and solitude, and possibly Boy too. Girl doesn’t really want to put a label on anything, but figures this might be the chance to finally have something worth a label.

But there’s something wrong with this romantic comedy, and it isn't just the hacky writing and the two dimensional female lead and the fact that these tropes are force-fed and familiar.

Manic Pixie Dream World is a new play by Tansy Gardam exploring the stereotypes and tropes of the romantic comedy and the Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Book tickets here or visit the event for more info.

SUDS will be hosting Play With Your Food on opening night so check out that event too for more info on $5 pizza/drink deals.

SUDS PRESENTS: Would I Lie to You?

24th Sept | 7pm | The Red Rattler

To celebrate our 126th year as a society, SUDS is throwing possibly the greatest party of all time. You won’t want to miss this night of comedy, dancing and free booze!

We’ve rustled up two teams of popular Sydney comedians who will go head-to-head in an attempt to fool the opposition into believing their lies. Based on the award-winning BBC game show, contestants will retell bizarre personal stories while the opposing team attempts to discern fact from fiction. The show will force our fiercely funny wordsmiths to swindle lies and qualify truths and will leave you questioning everything you’ve ever heard.

Starring: Aaron Chen, Rebecca de Unamuno, Bridie Connell, Carlo Ritchie, Tom Walker & Shubha.

Join us at the Red Rattler Theatre at 7pm, for a 7:30pm start. After the show, we’ll clear a dance-floor and welcome the DJ to spin the decks and drop the beats through till midnight.

Book tickets here or visit the event for more info.

SUDS ATTENDS: All About Medea

18th Sept | 7pm | The Wanderer

Our President Imogen Gardam has produced a play called All About Medea playing at the Sydney Fringe and we are going to all go see it together on September 18th.

"My heart going boom boom boom..."

She was strong, she was cute, she was quirky, she was… exotic. They moved in together. They had a baby. It wasn’t expected, their parents didn’t approve but they ended up together.

Book tickets here or visit the event for more info.

SUDS ATTENDS: Patches

19th Sept | 7pm | The Rose of Australia

Building on the momentum gained from their debut show, Little Eggs is back with a brand new devised work, Patches. Patches will reflect on experiences of the NSW foster care system, drawing on consultation with carers and industry professionals to highlight the challenges facing a system vital to the needs of young Australians.

Meet at the Rose of Australia in Erskineville at 6pm for drinks and chats for a 7pm start at the Erskineville Town Hall.

Book tickets here or visit the event for more info.
