7.87 millions d'Euros attribués aux initiatives de formation européennes 

Les résultats du soutien aux initiatives de formation européennes (deuxième phase de financement) viennent d'être publiés.
Un total de 58 initiatives seront soutenues.

Félicitations à la société de formation luxembourgeoise
EAVE. Ses programmes 'Puentes - Europe/Latin America producers workshop' et 'European workshop programmes' bénéficieront d'un soutien de 580.000 Euros.

  • EAVE Producers Workshop 2016

Applications are open for the 2016 edition of EAVE's year-long Producers Workshop. The course is aimed at producers, both fiction and documentary, who are already working in the film and television industries keen to start operating on a European-wide basis by increasing their knowledge of producing and co-producing in Europe and by building up a pan-European professional network. Applications from representatives of associated branches of the industry are also welcome. 

The 3 sessions take place from March 3 - 10 in Luxembourg (LU), June 13 - 20 in Lithuania (LT) and October/November (dates TBC) in Prague (CZ), 2016.

  • Screen4All Campus - Be Disruptive!

Les inscriptions ont été prolongées pour ce workshop de 5 jours sur les nouveaux financements, usages et technologies de rupture pour la télévision, le cinéma et les nouveaux écran. La formation délivre les connaissances nécessaires pour développer une stratégie prenant en compte les évolutions et les mutations de l’écosystème des images en termes économiques, techniques et de marketing et se tiendra en octobre 2015 à Paris.

  • EAVE Marketing Workshop 2015

Applications are now open for the 2015 edition of this four day intensive workshop, which will exploring film marketing throughout the process of development, production, festival screening, exhibition and distribution and take place in Luxembourg from 18 to 22 November 2015. 

Participants can apply with a project (documentary / fiction feature / transmedia) in any stage of production – from early development to post-production.  

In group work sessions led by EAVE experts, the participants (with and without projects) will work together on these projects, analyzing the sales and marketing potential and developing unique and innovative strategies for marketing, sales and audience engagement for their films.

Target audience: producers wishing to gain a greater understanding of the marketing process as well as professionals working in sales, distribution and marketing departments. Applications from other film industry professionals (regional and national funding bodies, training experts, consultants etc).) are also welcome.

  • EURODOC 2016
EURODOC est un programme de formation à la coproduction internationale de documentaires de création qui accueille chaque année près de 30 professionnels d’Europe et d’ailleurs. Pour aborder les diverses étapes du développement d’un projet de film, une cinquantaine d’experts actifs dans le champ de la production et du financement du documentaire interviennent au cours de la formation.

La formation s'adresse aux producteurs indépendants porteurs d'un projet documentaire d'ambition internationale. 

Le programme se compose de 3 sessions de formation d’une semaine chacune, sur une période de 8 mois.

  • Erich Pommer Institute workshops

Producers and distributors can now apply to two MEDIA-supported EPI workshops:

- European Co-production: Legal and financial aspects

Using a range of material including case studies, this workshop explores the legal and financial opportunities and challenges of European co-production such as bilateral treaties and the European Convention on Cinematographic Co-production, European tax incentives, marketing and distribution aspects. revenue sharing and waterfall scenarios. . Seminars are taught by acclaimed European producers and leading filmmaking experts. 

Dates and location: 14-18 October, Berlin

- Digital Strategies: Financing, Marketing and Distributing 2.0

This workshop equips producers and distributors with the skills needed to harness the opportunities of the digital world. Topics covered include digital distribution, crowdfunding, audience engagement and transmedia strategies.

  • TorinoFilmLab Script & Pitch 

Script&Pitch is an advanced script development course for scriptwriters and directors of feature films from all over the world. It consists of 3 week-long residential workshops in March, June and November 2016 + 2 online sessions and follows the entire scriptwriting process, offering close collaboration and insights into the challenges of each step, from generating ideas and structuring the material through first and second drafts, up to a final pitch in front of the decision makers invited to the Torino FilmLab Meeting Event in November 2016, during the Torino Film Festival. 12 projects will be selcted to take part in the course. 

Target audience: professional scriptwriters and writer-directors from all over the world. The course is aimed at fiction feature film projects at an early development stage.

1st residential workshop: 7-13 March 2016 (Ghent, BE)
2nd residential workshop: 18-25 June 2016 (Brignogan, FR)
3rd residential workshop and Meeting Event: 27 Nov - 2 December 2016 (Turin, IT).

  • Production Value 2016 

Assistant directors, line producers, production managers and producers can now apply to PRODUCTION VALUE 2016.  This 8-day workshop that aims at strengthening the creative partnership of assistant directors and line producers/production managers with producers and directors. It focuses on 6 European feature films in pre-production, seeking to meet the creative and financial challenges of each project.

Production Value is organized by  FOCAL resource (NL), the Swedish Film Institute, the Finnish Film Foundation, the Norwegian Film Institute, the Austrian Film Institute and FOCAL (CH) and supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme.

  • NISI MASA European Short Pitch 2016
You can now submit your short film project to the 2016 edition of NISI MASA's European Short Pitch. 
ESPis an initiative aimed at promoting the European coproduction of short films. It combines a scriptwriting workshop in residency (11/01 - 22/02) and a coproduction forum (2-6/03) bringing together scriptwriters, directors and industry professionals from all over Europe.

European Short Pitch is open to 20 creative teams developing international short film projects. It is therefore open to writers, directors, and producers.

The co-production forum will take place in Luxembourg, in cooperation with the Luxembourg Directors and Screenwriters Association (LARS) in the context of Luxembourg City Film Festival.

  • European Culture Forum 2015
The European Culture Forum takes place every two years as the main flagship event organised by the European Commission in the field of culture. The general objective of this Forum is to highlight the role of culture as a breeding ground for talent and creativity. This will involve reflecting on how a vibrant cultural sector and sound, inclusive cultural policies can contribute to some key priorities of the new Commission. 

This year's programme has three plenary sessions with lively and interesting panel debates in the presence of VIPs and high level speakers. Each of these sessions will focus on one of the three pillars of the European Agenda for Culture:

  • the social dimension, including intercultural dialogue - Talent and creativity for engaging with the world,
  • creativity and innovation - Talent and creativity for the economy: A new boost for innovation, growth and jobs,
  • and culture as a vital element of external relations - Talent and creativity for diplomacy: Making Europe a stronger global player

  • Venice crowns three MEDIA-supported films
Three films which received MEDIA funding through the slate funding and distribution automatic schemes picked up awards and collateral prizes in Venice last Saturday.

L'Hermine by Christian Vincent (France) was awarded two prizes:
- Coppa Volpi Best Actor award for Fabrice Luchini
- Best Screenplay award for Christian Vincent

Marguerite by Xavier Giannoli (France, Belgium, Czech Republic) was awarded the P. Nazareno Taddei award while Luca Guadgnino's A Bigger Splash (France, Italy) picked up the Soundtrack Stars and Best Innovative Budget awards. 

 
 
  • Europe Day 2015 in Amsterdam, 17.9.2015
The topic of this year's Europe Day Conference in Amsterdam is 'The Digital Revolution'.  The conference will explore the impact of the digital revolution on the cultural and audiovisual sector, including its impact on copyright. What opportunities and obstacles do directors, screen writers, distributors, financiers, cultural institutions and consumers encounter? What difference can a Digital Single Market make?

The conference programme consists of a keynote, a general overview, two interesting case studies (supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA and Culture sub-programme respectively) and several panel discussions with opportunities for audience participation. 

The conference will be held in English.

  • European Film Forum in San Sebastian, 20.9.2015
On Sunday 20 September Creative Europe MEDIA and San Sebastian Film Festival host a new edition of the European Film Forum. The San Sebastian session will focus on 'Audiences in Motion', exploring the profound changes brought about by the internet and digital technologies and affecting existing models of production, distribution and exhibition, and the extent to which many of these changes are led and shaped by audiences. 

The Forum's three panels will address the new roles audiences play in the creation, production, distribution and exhibition of audiovisual content, as well as innovative formulas in relation to audience participation. 

Catalina Briceño, Director of Industry and Market Trends of Canada Media Fund (Canada) will be the conference’s keynote while the panels will be moderated by Liz Rosenthal, CEO of Power to the Pixel (UK). 

The European Film Forum, a platform facilitated by the European Commission for a structured dialogue between policy makers and stakeholders in the audio-visual sector, was launched in Berlin this year. Subsequent editions took place in Cannes, Sarajevo and Venice. The EFF's key focus lies on issues to do with financing and public support to content in the digital era, the changing relationship between European films and their audiences and fostering talent and creativity.
