Dear Parents

This first full week seems to have flown by and what a difference a week makes! Our new starters have now experienced a full week of Gateway life and appear to be loving it.

All the children and staff have settled back into school life really well and it is lovely to see them all approaching each day with such enthusiasm. Clubs and care have started with a flourish and the pupils are getting to grips with their new routines. We are also sending out our new style bulletin today for the first time.

What a busy time Reception have had during their first full week in ‘big school’! The teachers have been very impressed with how well the children have been taking responsibility of their personal belongings at the start of each day. It has been lovely to see them already adapting to the school routines and taking that first step to becoming independent learners.

Thanks to the newly extended school hall, we are now able to hold whole school assemblies and we kicked off this week by introducing our Learning for Life topic: Being Me in My World.  During this topic, the children will have opportunities to identify their goals for the year, understand the consequences of their actions and learn about aspects of democracy and the importance of pupil voice.
