2016 Season  Classically Black

At 651 ARTS, our mission has always been grounded in the celebration of Black artistic expression through contemporary live performances and enriching conversations about art making. Our 27th Season is no different, but we’re putting a twist on things. This year, we celebrate the classics – theatre, ballet, and classical music – and the influence artists of African descent have had on these time honored art forms. We will also honor the very best of Black culture that will never go out of style. After all, who doesn’t love a good line dance? From intimate salons, to family friendly social dance parties, and an electrifying spring festival, Classically Black will excite, inspire, and may even cause a little two-step. I hope that you’ll join us in making this season another 651 classic!
