Montreal Pilgrimage

Every fall break, Campus Ministry makes a pilgrimage to Canada and the Oratory of St. Joseph, which was built through the inspiration of St. Andre Bessette, the first Holy Cross religious to be canonized a saint. The pilgrimage is open to all undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College and St. Mary's College. Learn more and register here



 

Mass for
Our Lady of Sorrows

When Bl. Basil Moreau founded the Congregation of Holy Cross, he entrusted the entire Congregation to Our Lady of Sorrows as its primary patroness. All are welcome and encouraged to join the Congregation of Holy Cross to celebrate Mass at the Basilica on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 5:15 p.m. as we honor Our Blessed Mother on this very special Feast Day. Music will be provided by the Notre Dame Women's Liturgical Choir.

 

Laudato Lunch

All are invited to join the Center for Social Concerns, the Minor in Sustainability and Campus Ministry for reflection and community-building in the spirit of Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si'. In this inaugural lunch meeting on Friday, Sept. 11 at 12:30 p.m. in the Geddes Hall Coffeehouse, we will discuss excerpts from the encyclical. Lunch and coffee will be served. Liturgical Training

Training for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will be held on Sept. 8 at 10 p.m. and Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. Training for Lectors will be held on Sept. 8 at 8:30 p.m. and Sept. 13 at 8:30 p.m. All training sessions will be held in the Basilica. Extraordinary Ministers must renew their commissions annually while Lectors only need to attend a training once. Learn more here.




 

Alpha

Alpha: An Introduction to Christianity is a 7-week series that addresses the basics of Christian beliefs. The first meeting of the academic year will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. in the Coleman-Morse Center, room 331. Dinner is included. Students who plan to attend the Sept. 13 session are asked to RSVP to Brett Perkins








 

Server Training

Anyone interested in becoming a Server in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart must first attend a one-time mandatory training session. One training session will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. in the Basilica. Servers do a variety of things at Mass including assisting with the preparation of the altar, receiving the gifts at Offertory and escorting the Consecrated Hosts to the Tabernacle. Mindful Meditation

Mindful meditation is held throughout the academic year every Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. in the Meditation Room (room 102) inside the Coleman-Morse Center. Meditation practice is open to Notre Dame students, faculty and staff of all faiths. For more information, please email mindful@nd.edu

Eucharistic Adoration

Starting Monday, Sept. 14, Eucharistic Adoration will be held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Notre Dame Our Mother Chapel inside the Coleman-Morse Center. Students are encouraged to pray during regular Adoration hours or volunteer to keep vigil at a particular time. Sign up for a weekly half-hour slot here. Students are also invited to attend EXALT, a monthly evening adoration service. The first EXALT adoration of the semester will take place on Friday, Sept. 11 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Duncan Hall Chapel.

Ecumenical Prayer for Peace

All are welcome to join in prayer and a candlelight procession on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart for the signing of the international Appeal for Peace. The ceremony will be led by Archbishop Odama (Gulu, Uganda) along with local clergy from the religious communities of St. Joseph County. Music will be provided by the Notre Dame Folk Choir and Celebration Choir. Learn more here.
