Dear <<Primary Salutation>>,

Clean water is critical to the vibrancy of our communities, to the health of our economy, and to our quality of life. But clean water doesn't just happen, it requires an engaged community to safeguard this precious public resource.

Please continue to take an active part by renewing your Lake Champlain Committee membership which expired <<Current Expires On>>. We're very grateful for your last donation of <<Current Dues>> and hope you will renew at or above that level.

You can renew online, call our office (802 658-1414) to process your donation over the phone, or mail a check to our address below. (A form follows for your convenience.) Either way, your gift will make a difference in the ongoing work to protect and restore water quality, safeguard natural habitats, combat invasive species, provide access, and foster stewardship.

Your membership dollars will help LCC:
  • Push for greater regulatory controls to reduce nutrient loading. We are working to ensure that the water quality legislation that passed last session is backed by strong rules and enforcement.

  • Lobby against the oil tanker trains threatening our waterways and communities.

  • Keep "new generation" toxins out of the water. We are advancing legislation to ban microbeads and have launched a campaign to keep pharmaceuticals out of our drinking water.

  • Continue our award-winning blue-green algae monitoring program. LCC volunteers monitor water conditions at over 100 shoreline locations. Check the data tracker map to stay apprised of conditions. (The majority of the data on the map is provided by LCC.)

  • Provide access and maintain a safe recreational corridor for human-powered craft. Check the box on your renewal form to receive your 2015 edition of the annual Paddlers' Trail guide.

  • Train educators to teach about the lake, and more.
Lake Champlain is our drinking water source, recreational playground, and the biggest resource we collectively own. It's our place to take care of. Please stay involved and vested in that care and the work for clean water by renewing your Lake Champlain Committee membership.

Deep thanks for your ongoing support,

Lori Fisher, LCC Exec. Director
