Gluon Newsletter #1
History in the making! Well, sort of...
What a crazy time we are all having inside Gluon! As I write this, we have a client onsite with us for the next two weeks, we have one team member travelling internationally giving training for Java and JavaFX topics, and other members of our team working with clients on custom consulting work. If that isn't enough, we are also making huge strides on our various products and open source projects!
Because of this, we wanted to start this newsletter by thanking the community for being so welcoming of us - we appreciate working with, and for, you! We hope that it continues for a very long time.
Also, thank you for signing up to receive the Gluon Newsletter! We plan to use this to keep you informed about everything that is going on inside and around Gluon. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or feedback, reach out to us! We want to have open channels between ourselves and the community.
For those of you not keeping a close eye on our website, it is slowly evolving as we find time to flesh it out. You'll note a number of interesting new pages if you explore far and wide. We'll cover some of those in this newsletter.
On with the first ever Gluon Newsletter!

Progress on Gluon Charm
Gluon Charm, our client-side library that takes care of all the grunt work, so you can focus on the important aspects of your code, is progressing really well. We have released three developer preview builds and are getting really close to a 1.0 release.
Recently we also announced pricing and licensing details for Gluon Charm, and we have been pleased to see people are committing to the product early for their own applications. If you are looking at building a cross-platform (and mobile-friendly) application framework, take a look at Gluon Charm!

Gluon Cloud
Gluon Cloud has been in public beta for a few months now, and we are actively improving it all the time based on your feedback. If you are wanting to build an application that requires data synchronization across multiple devices, you really owe it to yourself to look into Gluon Cloud.

Gluon IDE Plugins
The Gluon team have recently been working hard on building out plugins for the three main Java IDEs (namely NetBeans, Eclipse, and IntelliJ IDEA). They are now available for download and provide a huge productivity boost to people wanting to build Java-based mobile applications for Android and iOS devices.

|
|
JavaFXPorts
JavaFXPorts got a brand new home in the last few weeks, as it moved into the Gluon stable of open source projects. We have also put out new builds recently, for Android, iOS, and now armv6 hard float devices (e.g. the Raspberry Pi). We have plenty more in the pipeline, so stay tuned!

Gluon Training + Consulting
The only time the Gluon team isn't working on products or open source is when we are busy working on your products, or training you up on the best practices in Java, JavaFX, and Java EE programming. As mentioned earlier, we have been extremely fortunate to have been welcomed into your organizations, and we appreciate the opportunity. We hope that it is mutually beneficial - you receive world-class consulting and training services, and that sustains our team to work on our products and open source projects.
Thank you for your support!

Gluon Partner Program
We recently announced the Gluon Partner program for customers who view their relationship with Gluon as a strategic investment. The Gluon Partner program offers a number of benefits, and depending on precisely what you want, it is likely that the benefits you most value are vastly different than for other customers.

The End!
Looking through this newsletter, our first of many, it is really impressive how much work is going on inside Gluon. Our company is firing on all cylinders. We are ready to work with you and your team, regardless of whether it is training, consulting, integrating our various open source projects, or making use of our products such as Gluon Charm or Gluon Cloud. If there is anything we can do to help, reach out to us!
Until next time!
