Fall Half Day Retreat

Summer has flown by us so quickly. The nights are getting shorter and we've had a few days of a slight chill in the air already. I'm excited to share this retreat with the community by offering time on the calm waters of the upper Potomac River. As I host my 5th retreat, this fall, we're offering a yoga class, stand up paddleboard session and closing the retreat with a guided meditation. There no need to say much more about it! Can you think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning? Leading retreats gives me a chance to relax and unwind with a wonderful group of individuals each season. I love hosting retreats in the local community to offer well being to new students, offer a retreat space to old friends and take a moment to re-set our minds and bodies at the start of a busy season.

Enjoy time in the soothing sounds and sights of nature as we move towards the fall season. The goal of the half-day Time Out Retreat is to get away without having to travel far and to help you reconnect with your heart through yoga, meditation and stand up paddleboarding.

What Will The Half-Day Retreat Include?

Renew your mind. body & spirit.

Fall Equinox Yoga with Leslie - 9 am

We will begin with check-in for all students and set up our yoga mats along with C & O Canal for an outdoor yoga flow, waking up our energy centers, our chakras. This class is ideal for beginners and experienced students. We will move slowly and mindfully, gearing this class towards a morning flow of easeful movement and breath work. We are moving in to the Fall equinox by the time of the retreat. The equinox begins our shift to a slower time of the year, a time to turn inward.

Snack Break Hosted by Leslie - 10:15 am

Please bring your own water for the half-day retreat.
Gluten-free snack bars will be provided.

Paddleboarding Instruction & Guided Tour
with Potomac Paddlesports - 10:30 am

Pennyfield Lock along the C & O Canal is a gorgeous setting for an outdoor retreat. Potomac Paddlesports has top-notch instructors who are fun and entertaining.  We'll get 2 & 1/2 hours of time with the instructor who will guide us on land first, following by time on the water. This weekend will be the end of the DC area's paddling season. The class is held in calm waters, ideal for all ages and levels.

Closing Guided Meditation with Tim Kenney - 1:00 pm

Tim Kenney has been studying mindfulness and meditation with his teacher, Tara Brach for several decades. Tim will lead us through a guided meditation to end of our time together. Depending on the weather, we will close our meditation on the paddle boards on the water, or with a moving meditation on the grass along the C & O Canal. (to be determined by Tim on the day of.)
