Apple Festival Parade on Monday!
Yes, it might rain a bit on our parade (or it might not), but we're doing
it anyway, and we're going to have a wonderful, spirited unit to let Henderson
County know we are alive and well and bringing positive, political messages and
energy!
Peg Price, your hard working Parade Coordinator has succeeded in reaching
many of you. We mostly have yeses, but we still haven't heard back from all the
messages she left. So we hope, when you read this, you'll come on board and
know when and where to meet, what to wear, and join us for a great time!
DATE: Monday, September 7
TIME: 2:30 pm
ROUTE: Full length of Main Street, about 45 minutes, and past our own
Democratic Party booth!
MEETING TIME: 1:30pm -1:45pm
MEETING PLACE: Gather on Oakwood Street at HCDP's designated # spot. Look for
Brian and Julianne Evers and their 1950's antique, amazing,
saffron-colored pick-up truck!
PARK YOUR CAR: Most convenient is the Methodist Church (or others) parking lot
close by. Walk up to 64, go west a block and right onto Oakwood.
Ask anyone with a clipboard where our # spot is and walk to it.
PLEASE BE THERE BY 2:00pm AT THE LATEST!
WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING:
We're wearing BLUE AND WHITE--jeans, slacks, shorts, and "D" blue shirts or
other blue shirts, and GOOD WALKING SHOES.
Sunscreen, ball cap, straw hat, country hat...AND BIG SMILES! And bring a
friend, too!
WE'LL HAVE: small bottles of water in the truck bed, a bale of hay for the CD
player to ride on, a couple of chairs for two who need to ride.
SIGNS TO CARRY: the big "D" signs on a stick with a positive value we act on,
such as JUSTICE, FAIR PAY, ETC.
TWO PEOPLE WILL CARRY OUR BIG HENDERSON COUNTY BANNER IN FRONT, then the truck,
and walkers will follow.
