Thanks for Meeting us and our Floating Island

Welcome to the Watershed
We are grateful for your interest and your participation at the SVNA picnic Labor Day. What a great day, great band, great neighborhood. Thanks for stopping by our table and asking about the Floating Island we will be planting and launching at the Civic Center lagoon on Oct. 16. We hope you will be able to join us. More details on our website.

We have added you to our mailing list, thanks to the card you filled out. We send out a monthly newsletter of watershed related events. There is also a ton of useful information on our website

Coastal Clean up
Saturday Sept. 19 is Coastal Clean Up day,  keeping it clean in California--removing plastic and other pollutants from our communal waterways. GWC will not be hosting a clean up this year but many other groups will be and welcome your help! You can find a group near you here.

Watershed Tours
GWC offers tours of the headwaters, bay, and city portion of Gallinas Creek. Rachel Kamman, noted local hydrologist and other local experts will be on hand to answer questions and provoke a new way of thinking about our creeks and waterways. Dates will be posted on the website as we confirm them.

Monthly Meetings
The GWC Board meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Community Room on the second floor of the Northgate Mall above the food court. Meetings are from 7 - 9 pm. All are invited and encouraged to attend. We discuss many matters of interest concerning our local area and creeks in general. Our next meeting is Wed. Oct. 7, 2015. Hope you will join us!

Our October Meeting will focus on greywater systems and how you can help keep your garden green even during the drought. Saving water makes sense, and saves water for the rest of the environment.
