It's officially 'Thank You' season.

All the dust has finally settled from the 19th Pin-a-Go-Go. Believe me, it takes a VERY long time for pinball-show-dust to settle; especially when your show is in the middle of Farmland, USA!  Our accounting is all done and we are already having board meetings to plan for next year's show.  As we take a collective deep breath, we are reminded just how fortunate we are to have so many wonderful volunteers, resources, community support, and sometimes just plain ol' good luck when it comes to putting on the show.  We would like to take a moment and list just some of the jobs and functions that go into making a successful show. Enormous appreciation goes to...

  • The load-in and load-out crews— the people who schlep the games into the place early in the morning and all day, put them together, plug them in and level them out as well as load them back up at the end
  • The security people who tirelessly make sure that good stuff is not going out and bad stuff is not coming in
  • The people who spend an ENTIRE day putting up all the banners and keep smiling
  • The raffle ticket hawkers
  • The chefs from Dixon Rotary
  • The truck drivers
  • The Dixon Teen Center manager- one of our awesome volunteer coordinators
  • The kids that put wristbands on the attendees
  • The folks who ring you up when you come in or buy a t-shirt
  • The woman who sorted all the tee-shirts onto the racks
  • The people who put up all the tables for the vendors
  • The amazing crew who came in and cleaned up the trash, floors, and bathrooms after we broke down all the games
  • The bathroom attendants, the food servers, the greeters
  • The lady who organized the kids-count-the-pinball-machines on Saturday afternoon contest
  • The people who ran the silent auction
  • The coordinator who asked for donations for the raffle and auction
  • The couple who picked up the guest of honor at the airport and treated him like a king
  • The couple who put on the Flipping’ Friday Kick-Off Dinner
  • The lady who got up early and put together a complimentary breakfast Saturday morning for all the people who brought games
  • The guy who did the poster and other artwork
  • The guys who took the time to put up the Pinball Clinic on Sunday and shared information on how to fix, buy and clean-up your pinball machine
  • The guy who spent the whole night there doing special photographs of the event
  • The guy who made up really cool posters and sold them at the Flea Market only to turn around and give the money to the charity
  • The many vendors who took the time to bring their game room supplies and knick-knacks and cheerfully paid rent to be there and on top of that donated to the raffle prize table
  • The Sunday Pinball School Professors of Pinball Skills who taught the classes
  • The people who brought their tools, supplies, and know-how to keep the games running all weekend
  • The guy who made the cool tournament trophies and ran the tournament and the people who helped keep scores
  • The people who took photos and shared them on the website
  • ...and of course the stars of the show— the people who brought in their pinball machines to share.
  • Oh, and us who have meetings all year to make this happen.
All these people and many more not mentioned helped make the show a beautiful conglomeration of blood, sweat, and tears because they want to share pinball with the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Pin-a-Go-Go is presented by the Northern California Pinball Association, a state and federally recognized 501c3 non-profit corporation. Through your participation in this event, donations from vendors, matching grants from corporations, and the generosity of many individuals, we were able to make a donation in the amount of $22,660.26 to the Dixon Teen Center.  The DTC exists to enrich the lives of Dixon teens by providing them with a safe place to build positive relationships, learn life skills, and obtain assistance in their educational endeavors.  We are delighted to make a donation to this very worthy organization.

Thank you again for supporting Pin-a-Go-Go, and we look forward to hosting the 20th anniversary show at the Dixon May Fair.  Make sure to put May 13-15, 2016 on your calendar now.  We wouldn't want to miss you!
