From the President's Boat
Please join me the third Tuesday of the month at the Coon Rapids VFW and please bring a guest as all of our meetings are open to the general public and we welcome all guests. We have lined up all of our speakers through the Spring for our monthly members meetings as noted below.
Speakers for Fall 2015/Spring 2016
* October 20 - Paul Hartman Muskie Guide
* November 17 - Joel Stiras DNR Fisheries Specialist Musky movement in the St. Croix
* December 15 - Noah Binsfeld from Get the Net Guide Service
* January 19 - Reel cleaning with Thorne Brothers
* February 13 – No Meeting due to Annul banquet
* April 19 - Timmy Peterzen (Guide) - Peterzen Fishing
* May 17 – Poolside Lure Demo with Thorne Brothers
As the weather and the water turns colder please practice safety and wear your life jacket, have your safety float readily accessible and when possible fish at least with one partner. There are lots of North Metro members that would happily join you or offer up a spot in their spot. If interested post your request for a partner in your boat or to be someone’s partner on MuskieFirst in the Muskie Club Forum (North Metro Chapter) Section. Even better take out a non-MI member, tell them about the benefits of being a member of the North Metro Chapter and how they can help improve our Metro Muskie fishery.
Muskie fishing can be a great time to bond with family member and friends so take the time as life is too short. Please keep Jim Shannon and Tony VanDanacker’s Wife in your prayers and best wishes as they deal with their serious health issues. A few members have been stepped up to help the Board but every Member can help in their own way.
Your President is calling on all members for their much needed assistance to help put on our annual Banquet on February 13th and put on the 50th Anniversary of Muskies Inc. Celebration on in March 12th in partnership with the Twin Cities Chapter. We are forming committees now and every bit of assistance real helps. Let’s celebrate the success of the National and Twin Cities Metro Muskie fisheries which would never have been possible without MI and local Chapters like the North Metro and the lasting memories, friendships and comradery that it has fostered in the process. I need you! Please contact me or any Board Member if you can help.

Muskies Inc Celebrates 50 Years
Muskies Inc. will be 50 years old in 2016. A 50 year Anniversary Banquet is planned for March 12, 2016 as part of the celebration. Muskies Inc. members from throughout the country are expected to attend.
The 50th Anniversary Banquet will be held in conjunction with the 2016 annual meeting as well as a 3-day scientific symposium on muskellunge.
An event the size of the banquet will take many volunteers to make it happen. Currently there is an oversight committee in place with members from each of the chapters taking part. As plans are developed, they will be asking for help with the planning and for volunteers the day of the event.
Volunteers are needed to help with planning the dinner, sponsorship and donations, games/silent auction/raffles, merchandise sales, media/advertising.
