Dear BHIPP Providers and Friends,
Welcome to the inaugural BHIPP newsletter! For those of you who don’t yet know us, Maryland BHIPP (Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care) is a consultation program available to pediatric primary care providers across the state.
Our mission is to support the capacity of pediatric primary care providers to participate in the mental health care of children and youth as well as to improve access to mental health services. Now entering our third year as an official program, we have been excited to meet and train providers in many regions of the state, and to see our volume of phone calls steadily grow. It has been a learning experience for our team to hear the range and complexity of cases being managed by primary care providers in the community.
Our goal in producing this newsletter is to keep our providers and stakeholders informed and involved. Each month you will find a feature article contributed by one of the BHIPP team members, in addition to quick tips, program updates, and upcoming events.
