Mayor praises town's "amazing" retained firefighters
 

Epping mayor Michael Wright has praised the town's "amazing" retained firefighters after visiting the town's fire station and seeing the crew in action.

Mr Wright met Station Commander Paul Chipperfield and was introduced to the firefighters before watching a training drill.

Mr Wright, who was accompanied by his wife, Lorna, and town councillors Barbara Scruton and Grahame Scruton on Thursday evening, said: “Having watched the team training I'm absolutely amazed. They working exactly like that - as a team.”

He added: “Epping and all other areas owe a lot to the fire service. They do a colossal job and we can only offer them our sincere thanks for all that they do.”
