Judging

Judging will be conducted by MPG members and non-members appointed by the Chair of the MPG Awards Committee. Each award category will have a Head Judge and two additional Judges, who will select the MPG Best of the Year Award winners and the Bob D’Olivo Award for Photography. A final panel of three judges, including the Chair of the MPG Awards Committee as Head Judge, will then select the winner of the Dean Batchelor Award from amongst the category winners. Award finalists will be announced on December 1, 2015, and winners will be announced at the MPG Awards Ceremony on December 15, 2015.

The judging panel in each category can select up to three finalists. Judging panels are not obligated to name a winner in any category unless they determine that the quality of the work under consideration represents the standard of excellence in automotive journalism that is the hallmark of the Motor Press Guild Awards. Therefore, there may be a category or categories without a winner.

The decisions of the judges are final, and not subject to review.
Indemnification and Limitation of Liability:
By entering the Motor Press Guild Awards, each entrant agrees to indemnify, release and hold harmless the MPG and its administrator, advertising and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from any liability, damages, losses or injury resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from that entrant’s participation in the awards and the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize that may be won. MPG and its affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from access to or the download of information or materials connected with the Motor Press Guild Awards.

Terms and conditions may apply. All federal, state and local taxes associated with the receipt of the $500 Dean Batchelor Award are solely the responsibility of the winner.
