Get involved in Devonport 2015 Seniors Week


From Monday 12 October we'll be celebrating Seniors Week with a range of events including lunches, film screening, dances, fitness activities and more. You can even take control of a plane! Seniors Week will kick off with an Expo at Baptcare Orana, Monday 12 October from 10am. Full program details here.

Have your say on parking in Devonport



Devonport City Council has commenced a formal review of the parking strategy for the Devonport local government area, which covers all aspects of parking needs within the City.  You're invited to complete the parking survey at Speak Up Devonport by 5pm, Friday 9 October.

Help make Devonport a more walkable City


Council has responded to recent community feedback regarding requests for lighting on Victoria Parade by undertaking community consultation and obtaining costings for the installation of lighting for consideration as part of the 2016/17 Council budget.  The community consultation is now open and has been incorporated into the review of the Devonport Pedestrian Network Strategy. Australia Day Award nominations are now open


Do you know a Devonport resident or group who has made a significant contribution to the Devonport community? Or maybe somebody who is an inspiration?  You can nominate them online today for the Devonport Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year or Community Event of the Year Award.
 

Show your support of the Hawks this Wednesday 
 

 

Hawthorn Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson and selected premiership team players will be bringing their three Premiership Cups to the Rooke Street Mall at 9.30am this Wednesday, 7 October. Come along and show your support and help celebrate their 2015 Premiership win.

Council's 2014/15 Annual Report & AGM


Council has delivered another strong financial performance, reporting an underlying surplus of $2.3 million for the year despite rates being held at 2013/14 levels.  During the year Council was able to reduce it's operational expenditure whilst still maintain services to the community and deliver $7.2 million of capital works.  The AGM will be held at 6pm, Monday 28 October in the Council Chambers.  Details here.
 

Devonport Ferry service to return this month


Devonport's much loved trans-Mersey ferry is set to return to the water. To be known as the 'Spirit of Devonport' it will operate Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm.  It will be re-launched at 11am, Friday 23 October from the East Devonport ferry pontoon. Food Operators sought for LIVING CITY's Food Pavilion


Expressions of Interest are now being sought from food businesses interested in being part of the LIVING CITY Food Pavilion.  Opportunities are available for both permanent restaurants, cafes and market spaces, which are available on a short-term or flexible basis. Further details available here.
