ECBAT News #5.

News we hope you can use.

G'day,
Thanks to those who have given us feedback already, so far all positive - much appreciated.

(Ed. I'm bound to bugger up something sometime and I don't mind hearing from you about it, so I might be able to avoid the issue next time; but please remember, I am doing this as a volunteer to help promote ECBAT and the region).

IT IS THE WEEK OF SPORT! Not that I would normally concentrate on sport - but with finals matches, lots of other sports greatness, its hard not to mention it. I encourage you to get the Leader this week. Last week had a great roundup of sport, and it is likely to be the same this week too.

24 Hour Pedal Prix Result

Saturday 19th Sept. at Murray Bridge

30th AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL PEDAL PRIX

This year 'Roger's Rascals' a mix of adults from the Eudunda Area School and the Community presented their vehicle at the Eudunda Area School assembly last Thursday 17th Sep. The team, had been in training for the event and on the weekend was rewarded with a very credible 123rd from 225 entries. They also achieved an almost breakneck top speed of 40.275 km/h on lap 75 of the total 270 laps the team completed. This is in itself a great achievement as the traffic on the course is very busy and not all can drivers are predictable.

Congratulations also to Kapunda High School's 'Tools 4 Life' team who came in at position 72, and Nuriootpa High School's 'Bullet' at 60 and 'Avenger' at 33. A great effort! I see there were a lot of interstate schools participating this year, so the competition would have been very tough.

KESAB Tidy Town's Judging

KESAB Sustainable Communities Judging, more commonly known as KESAB Tidy Towns has happened for Eudunda with Greg Post taking KESAB’s Alex Hammett for a trip around the township examining closely all aspects of it.

Certainly the town's and Greg's efforts have been rewarded by KESAB awarding the town with the top award for the Mid North Region in 2009, 2013 and 2014. It is called the "Best Community in the Mid North"    Could we take a hat trick?

Saints Presentation Day

Held at the Eudunda Sporting Clubrooms, revelling went way into the early hours of the morning, and included fireworks. Highlights were that even more milestones were reached by some players, and the jumpy castle even had passers by tempted to stop and play.

Head in to your local shops to get the Leader Newspaper for this item.

Warning APPLE device owners:

Someone just took a bit bite into tablet and phone tech giant Apple.

Tonight's SA TV news reported that Apple devices may be at risk from what should have been legitimate apps from their AppStore. This seems to be relating to iPhones and iPads.

Although the big media outlets suggest that the main problem will be with Chinese apps, the more 'tech savvy' reports seem to suggest that it could affect more than that, mentioning apps quite well known here in Australia.  I will leave it up to you to decide which reports you believe (there are plenty of 'fan boy' sites around which will only tell positive reports and they may well be watering down the real truth - it will be up to you to judge. See the Tech Insider link below.

Although Apple has said it has since fixed the problem - there may be an issue with software already downloaded which may be affected and not yet updated.

Best defence: 'Tech Insider gives' some help at what to do to protect yourself.
