AAIP Sydney - Application Pack

September 2015

Jesuit Social Services, working in collaboration with National Australia Bank (NAB), is pleased to provide an application pack for the new round of the Sydney African-Australian Inclusion Program (AAIP).

The AAIP provides paid work experience and development for suitably qualified African-Australians. The AAIP addresses the challenge of unemployment and underemployment in the African Community by providing opportunities for professionally qualified African-Australians. Eighty-six per cent of those who have graduated from the program have found ongoing employment within their chosen field.

The AAIP is designed to provide appropriately qualified and skilled candidates who meet the selection pre-requisites (see attached) with enhanced prospects of gaining a job in their field of study by giving them the chance to:

  • acquire practical skills and experience in a large Australian corporate.
  • work with a coach throughout the duration of the program.
  • be supported in resume development and job search skills during the last months of the program and provide future potential employers with a reference from NAB.

The roles on offer

We have 11 work experience roles on offer - including a role in marketing.

Read the following job descriptions to understand each role before applying. When making your application, please refer to the full role title as listed below in your application.

How to apply

  • Read everything in the Application Pack and all attachments. Do not submit your application before you have read all information thoroughly.
  • Refer to the job description (also referred to as the Role Purpose Statement) for every role that you apply for. You can apply for up the three roles.
  • Submit:
    • one resume only - and
    • one cover letter per role that you apply for. If you are applying for more than one role, it is important that you save all of your cover letters in one document attachment. For example: if you apply for three roles, save all three cover letters in one document. This is because the online application system limits the number of attachments that applicants can upload.
    • You do not need to provide your academic transcripts or copies of your qualification/s.
  • Click the APPLY HERE button below to upload and submit your application. When you complete your application correctly, you will receive a confirmation from NAB that your application has been submitted. Please note: it is vital that you fully complete your application for it to be successful. If the system ‘times out’ you can log back in to complete it.

This fact sheet should answer any questions you have about the application process. Please do not contact us until you have done your own research thoroughly. If you are unable to find an answer to your question after carefully reading all material, send an email to inclusion@jss.org.au and we will respond within 24 hours on weekdays. As we are only small team, we are unable to respond to phone enquiries and ask that you do not call.
