Once such venue was Saughton Park where without a bandstand they played in the Rose Garden.
Imagine if there were bands playing at Saughton Park every weekend in the restored bandstand, well that is what the Friends of Saughton Park want to achieve.
As part of our MyParkExplore series there are a couple of great articles on the MyParkScotland website giving very different perspective on the importance of parks...

As the seasons change so too does the flora, fauna and wildlife. It’s as enjoyable walking through a park quietly blanketed in snow as it is in the springtime when life and colour returns.
Starbank Park in Edinburgh commands dramatic panoramas over the Firth of Forth to Fife.
As the park celebrated retaining it's Green Flag award for 2015/16 we spoke to Alastair Robertson from the Friends of Starbank Park on what makes the park special and how he has seen the park change over the 40 years he has been visiting the park.
So far Ted has managed to visit around half of the projects starting off visiting a fantastic tree office in London then heading south to visit a talking digital parrot in Bournemouth.

You can hear more about the importance of bat boxes at Figgate Park and help the group with their aim of providing roosting and resting places for the Figgate bats.
