Autumn Community Litter Pick
Our next community litter pick will take place on Sunday 25 October.

We meet at Whites Field car park at 10:00 and split into groups where a walk leader will guide you on some of Chinnor’s most popular footpaths and bridleways. There are varying lengths of footpaths to be cleared so if you can only spare an hour, there will be a walk for you. We plan to finish by 12:30 latest.

Make sure you bring suitable clothing including gardening gloves (or similar) and suitable footwear.

Sunflower Growing Competition Winners
At the Swap Shop in May, Greening Chinnor gave out free sunflower plants to the children and invited them to join our sunflower growing competition. The competition was open for all children to take part. The categories were 1: the tallest sunflower and 2: the widest seed head.

We are delighted to report that our winners were twins Poppy and Lottie Henderson aged three-and-a-half.  Poppy came first with the tallest flower at 147.5 cm and Lottie came first with the widest seed head at 18 cm.  Poppy and Lottie were presented with a copy of The Butterfly & Moth Detectives' Handbook and The Wildflower Detectives' Handbook. Congratulations to both Poppy and Lottie. Here is the link to the article published in the Thame Gazette.
Seed & Seedling Swap
How did you do with the seeds and seedling that you picked up at the Swap Shop in May?  Were there any successes or surprises? We'd love to know how you got on. Send your stories to Linda at greeningchinnor.gmail.com.
Chinnor Food Festival
Greening Chinnor had a presence at Chinnor's first ever Food Festival in June when Linda Brawn put on her 'Love food Hate Waste' hat to talk and show residents how they could make the most from the food they buy and how to reduce food waste. Whist the weather was poor, there was a good turn out and a lot of interest.
2016 Thermal Imaging
We are now in preparation for our 2016 thermal imaging project. The project will take place in the first 2 weeks of February and is open to residents of Chinnor Parish.

If you are interested in having your property surveyed by thermal image to see where you are losing heat and therefore losing money, email greeningchinnor@gmail.com to register your interest.  This is free service run by Greening Chinnor volunteers.  Places are limited and will be based on a first come first served basis.

The results of feedback from our 2015 Thermal Imaging Project will be published on our website shortly together with a Q & A sheet.
