Kenya & Feed. Teach. Hope.

The start of something...

It has been over a year since we traveled to Africa and saw the work that Christlike Kenya was doing in the slums of Northern Kenya. Since that time we have been busy, and with this email would like to announce that we will officially be operating as Feed.Teach.Hope., and we'd like to ask you to partner with us.

Why Feed. Teach. Hope. ?

Feed.
The first and primary obstacle to sharing the gospel with impoverished people is helping to sustain them physically.  Food and clean water are of utmost importance in areas where it doesn't come easily. As we've seen at Christlike Academy, providing daily meals for the students is a foundation of what happens there and of utmost importance in the lives of the children.  We are continuing to work with Christlike Kenya with providing food to students at the Academy and in another location further North.

Teach.
Because of the areas of extreme poverty, many people are not able to receive an education of any kind. Standard education through secondary school as well as job skills are necessary to help end the downward cycle into poverty and joblessness. In addition, Christian education is also vital so that hearts are drawn nearer to Christ and the pillars of faith are firmly set.  We are working with Christlike Academy to continue standard and Christian education beyond primary level and into secondary school.

Hope.
Food and education provide a hope for a bright future; the gospel of Jesus Christ provides an even brighter one. We are working in Africa not only for social justice, but for the proclamation of gospel truth and to see the global church grow. We are partnering with Christlike Kenya and their current church planting efforts across Kenya.

Thanks to your continued support, Christlike Academy has been able to provide a salary for the teachers and food for the students. Additionally, Christlike Kenya has been able to begin a feeding project in another location for impoverished children. As this program grows, we hope to see it form into a school much like Christlike Academy in Limuru.

As we look forward to this next year, we have three goals for Feed. Teach. Hope.

1. To establish solid monthly support from generous and loving partners who wish to see the love, action, and proclamation of the gospel spread through Kenya and beyond.  In order to keep Christlike Academy operational, the base budget is $2830/month.
   • $1620 director & teacher salaries
   • $700 food for the students
   • $140 rent for the building
   • $20 utilities
   • $250 misc costs (desks, uniforms, books, money transfer fees, etc)
   • $100 new feeding program
2. To refine and strengthen our relationship with Christlike Academy and improve our ability to communicate progress to our donors.  We would like to work to be sure the students are well cared for, are being taught from an up-to-date curriculum, are safe, and have the proper supplies that they need for school.  We also will be working to communicate frequently to our donors so that they can clearly see the fruit of their partnership with Feed. Teach. Hope.
3. To work closely with Christlike Kenya in crafting a forward trajectory for church planting in Africa. We hope to be able to provide financially to support their pastor training efforts as they work to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ into Northern Kenya.
