Editorial Sept 2015
In Melbourne this weekend we will be treated to the
Melbourne Guitar Foundation Competition and Festival to be held Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th at Melbourne University’s Melba Hall.
Guitarsonline are sponsoring the event and will be there showcasing guitars. Come along and say hello!
With spring in the air and a new shipment having just arrived now is a good time to check out your new guitar. At
Guitarsonline.com.au we have just received a shipment of classical and flamenco guitars direct from Spain from Alhambra, Paulino Bernabe, Contreras, Conde Hermanos, Angel Benito Aguado as well as new arrivals from Caldersmith, Alan Bull and Jayson Elazzi. The showroom is stacked full of goodies.
We have also received a number of excellent vintage and second hand guitars which we are reselling on behalf of their owners. These are available to view online or try at our showroom and include a George Ziata Spruce, Rob Clarke Cedar, Yamaha Air amplified Steel String, a James Keith Steel String, DeJong Flamenco Peg Head guitar, a David Argent Lattice, Jose Ramirez 1969 as well as several excellent student models.

Limited Stock at the old prices
After holding our prices for five years, and due to plummeting exchange rates we unfortunately had to raises our prices slightly for the first time in July. But – this only applies to new stock which means there is still plenty of previous stock available at good prices. But get in quick! For instance if you are looking for a good entry level guitar e.g. for Ensemble playing we still have some of the
Solid Cedar top New Alhambra Natural at just $439 with great volume and tonal projection and warm cedar sound.
Specials for Schools and Students
At this time of the year we are also running Specials for Schools and Students looking to upgrade their guitar. Ask us for a quote.
Vintage and Second hand
Guitarists are always looking for their “next guitar” to help them on their musical journey. We sometimes re-sell guitars on behalf. The advantage is that you can purchase concert standard guitars at a fraction of the original cost with the previous owner having done all the work of playing in the guitar for you; so you are buying a known quantity since what you play and hear is exactly what you get. Spruce can take 18 months to reach its peak. We have just taken into stock some superb options:
- 1961 Ignacio Fleta: Sold
- David Argent 2009: Brazilian Rosewood body, Cedar soundboard, high gloss finish, 20th fret. Graf Tuners. Rosette is Sturt's Desert Pea design.
- George Ziata Spruce
- Rob Clarke Cedar
- Jose Maria Vilaplana Cedar/Brazilian
- Jose Maria Vilaplana Spruce/Brazilian
- Jose Ramirez 1969
- De Jong Flamenco traditional Peg tuners
- Yamaha Amplified Air Steel String Guitar

Looking for something Special? Let us know what you are looking for...
If you are trying to find the right guitar contact us and let us help. We know finding “the right one” can be a frustrating process because there are not many options since few stores specialise in classical or flamenco guitars; and on the other hand when you go to see a maker they will only have one or two examples of their own work so you cannot test your favourite guitars back to back. All this can result in a confusing experience and buying a new guitar can lead to frustration and an inadequate guitar.
We aim to make guitar buying an exciting pleasure.
So we can either refer you to one of our dealers with a well stocked showroom or if you are locally based in Victoria we have rooms set up to test guitars, with up to 250-300 guitars in stock from many makers and at every level of price and skill.
