Dear Friends,
We count on the support of individuals like yourself to help us continue our mission.
In 2018, The Bronx County Historical Society is celebrating its 64th year of operations serving New York City and our Borough. Sixty-four years of stewardship of Bronx History, with the collecting and maintaining of artifacts, documents and objects of individuals and organizations whose accomplishments serve as witness to our past.
Our Society is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of the people of our Borough of The Bronx. The public programs along with our publications remind our audiences about the historic significance of The Bronx. We engage and excite them by letting them know that we were the site of the invention of the rotary printing press, the casting of the iron dome of the U.S. Capitol building, and the first meeting of the United Nations Security Council; that famous personalities like Edgar Allan Poe, Arturo Toscanini, Mark Twain and JFK all lived in The Bronx, or even that Abraham Lincoln’s statue commanding the Lincoln Memorial in our nation’s capitol was carved here, in our borough, by Italian sculptors.
Through your support we are able to develop and provide significant educational programming for thousands of students and visitors at The Museum of Bronx History and the Edgar Allan Poe Cottage at Poe Park, schools and associations.
Your contributions will help sustain a major part of the work we do. Kindly make your generous contribution by clicking on the donate button below. With our profound appreciation for your contribution, and our best wishes for the holidays!
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Kutner
