Limited Time Energy Efficiency Opportunities for Your Business

If you’ve been contemplating a major natural gas heating upgrade, such as a new furnace, water heater replacement, boiler tune-up or upgrade, or new unit heater now’s the time to save. These heating improvement projects are currently eligible for a 50% bonus rebate. Xcel Energy offers Building Tune-Ups for small businesses through its Recommissioning programs. The Building Tune-Up program is designed to assist small business customers to improve the efficiency of their existing building operations. Through the program, Xcel Energy identifies functional systems that can be “tuned up” to run as efficiently as possible through low- or no-cost improvements. Five Wellbeing Spa & Studio Wins Revitalization Grant

  Five Wellbeing Spa and Studio, located at 5602 South Nevada Street was awarded a revitalization grant from the City’s Economic Development department for extensive renovation and landscaping.  The meticulous renovation by owner Betsy Abrams took three years to accomplish.  Abrams’ care and attention to detail yielded impeccable results, including a welcoming wraparound front porch and beautiful landscaping.  Congratulations to Five Wellbeing Spa and Studio!


Littleton ranks #10 nationally for affordable small cities

In a WalletHub affordability survey of 1,268 cities with a population between 25,000 and 100,000, Littleton ranked #10 in the country and #1 in Colorado.  To make the determination, WalletHub looked across five categories including affordability, economic health, education, quality of life and safety.


Downtown Colorado, Inc. Partners with Local First Colorado to Promote Awareness for Local First Week

DENVER–October 26, 2017–Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) and the newly formed Local First Colorado (LFC) are pleased to announce a partnership to support LFC’s launch of Colorado’s Local First Week (November 25 – December 2, 2017), an awareness campaign designed to encourage Coloradans to support local businesses first. DCI and LFC determined this partnership advances the missions of both organizations as each aims to strengthen Colorado’s local economies.

Kicking off on Small Business Saturday, Local First Week is one week dedicated to asking local consumers to re-think daily habits and shift everyday actions to try a local business before heading to the big-box stores or ordering online. In 2007 the Mile High Business Alliance (MHBA) promoted this same week as Denver’s Buy Local Week, and continued this campaign every holiday shopping season for eight years. Now Local First Colorado seeks to build on MHBA’s work by re-activating this awareness campaign on a state-wide basis to celebrate the importance of supporting our local businesses.

“As a state-wide organization that has been working to revitalize Colorado’s local economies for 35 years, we are thrilled to help Local First Colorado launch Local First Week to remind our community members of the importance of patronizing our local businesses,” says Katherine Correll, DCI Executive director.

“Our independent businesses not only contribute to thriving local economies, but so often they are also what shapes the unique character of our cities, our communities, even our neighborhoods. Can you imagine what your community would feel like without your corner coffee shop, your local brewery, your favorite boutique or your neighborhood bookstore? These independent businesses can define a community.”

Co-founded by Heather Duncan (Tattered Cover Book Store), Nicole Sullivan (BookBar) and Heather Garbo (Denver Dweller), Local First Colorado is being activated by a coalition of local business leaders including Ellen Daehnik (Helliemae’s/Post Oak Hall), Patty Henry (The Freyja Project), Kappy Kling (Hearthfire Books), Mickki Langston (Tellicherry Trading Co.) and Caleb Seeling (Bowerhouse Books).

Local businesses interested in participating in Local First Week are encouraged to sign up here. Coloradans can take the Local First Pledge to shift support to a local business at www.localfirstcolorado.org.


Triad service solutions celebrates 40 years in business

  Literally started in a garage in 1977, Triad Service Solutions celebrates its fortieth year of business in Littleton.  Founder Donald Bondi and his youngest son Michael began by using cement mixers to make cleaning chemicals which they delivered to customers all over the Rocky Mountain region.   Still family-owned and operated at 8080 Southpark Lane, Jessica Bondi became the third generation to join the business in 2015.  Now a full service facilities maintenance and supply company, the company has grown to 600 employees providing services to 1500 customers in fifteen states.  Every day they are responsible for the maintenance of 300 million square feet in retail malls, Class A office buildings, grocery stores, food production facilities, server rooms and clean rooms, hospitals, universities and schools.  With their original mission statement of ‘a job well done for a fair price’ still driving the business, Triad’s continued success seems guaranteed.  Congratulations to Triad Service Solutions!


AddOns Inc. Named One of Denver’s 50 Fastest Growing Private Companies

AddOns Inc., a managed IT services firm for asset-intensive businesses in industries like mining and transportation, has just been listed by the Denver Business Journal as one of the Denver area’s fastest-growing private firms.  Located at 8040 Southpark Lane, the business was founded in 1998 by Chris Long and now employs over forty people, including a recently hired business development director charged with expanding into Latin America.  AddOns Inc’s. clever tagline “I.T. you swear by, not at” reflects the customized approach the business takes in developing I.T. solutions designed to reduce client downtime and optimize user experience.


City Announcements

Downtown Wayfinding Signage
Merchants operating a retail store or restaurant facing Prince, Nevada, Curtice, or Rapp streets between Powers to the north and Church to the south are eligible for placement on city-sponsored side street signs. Eligible businesses can apply for placement on the signs, and applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis.  All signs can list up to 6 businesses, with the business name featured on both side of the sign; below is listed the number of spaces available for a business on each sign.  If a sign is full, businesses will be waitlisted and applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis when there is a vacancy. Downtown Side Street Sign Application

Littleton Plans
Littleton has several community planning efforts getting underway this year. To encourage citizens and interested stakeholders to get involved in these community planning efforts, a new online tool, LittletonPlans.org  has been set up. This one-stop hub has detailed information regarding each project: associated documents, maps, upcoming events, and frequently-asked questions, together in one accessible online location to keep the community involved and informed.

Grants
The city has several grant opportunities available to the community, including: the Revitalization Incentive Grant, the Main Street Historic District Grant, and the Place-Making Grant.  For more information visit the Grants page on the Littleton website.
