Newburgh are holding an open day on Wednesday 29th November when we shall be serving soup and cakes. This is to thank our neighbours for their patience during the refurbishment of the outside of the building and also an opportunity to explore how the community and congregation see the use of the building developing as we move onto stage two refurbishing the interior of the building.
All welcome.

Scottish Government Working Group on Homelessness

As a key focus of his role as Moderator of the Church of Scotland General Assembly 2016/17, the Very Rev Russell Barr highlighted the continuing scandal of homelessness in Scotland. It is no coincidence that subsequently the Scottish Government has established a Working Group on Homelessness and has appointed Russell as one of its members. Russell has asked me to inform you that this Working Group is underway, and has provided the following Link to Action Group blog where news and updates are regularly posted. If anyone has any questions for or points to raise, please let David Pickering dpickering@urcscotland.org.uk know and he can liaise with Russell.

At a recent meeting of Glasgow District Women's Union it was agreed, after much discussion, that the Glasgow District Committee should close,  but to leave the door open for a future Women's Ministry with the Synod.
