Last month we manufactured the Album Outward Journeys on behalf of Ghost Box Records.
'Ghost Box is a record label for a group of artists exploring the misremembered musical history of a parallel world.'
We produced the album in a Purple 5 screw shell, packaged in a classic Norelco case with a J-Card and outer Cello-wrap.
We use a Digital loop bin duplication technique; this gives the highest possible quality of duplication. This involves using a master to record to a pancake of audio tape, rather than recording one tape at a time.
Side A is recorded in normal direction and side B is recorded backwards onto the tape.
An inaudible cue tone is recorded at the start of each recording.
The programmed pancake is then loaded onto cassette winding equipment and cut, spliced and wound into the shell of the empty cassette.
