KINTSUGI

Gold Repair

Join internationally acclaimed artist and ace ceramics conservator Penny Byrne for this 6-week Kintsugi (gold repair) course.  Upskill with all the professional tools, methods and materials that Penny uses to create her own famous artworks. You will practice on test tiles and there will be the opportunity to bring one or two of your own pieces to work on.
This 6-week short course will give you many of the rare and specialised techniques used by qualified ceramics conservators and restorers including time to practice joining broken pieces, repairing and filling cracks and finishing with restorer's gold.

This course comprises six two-hour classes and is suitable for anyone interested in ceramic restoration whether students, ceramic artists or fixers!

We know play is a profound learning tool, whatever age you are at. We encourage all our students to play with an open-minded approach to clay. But some kids don't even start their lives with play. We invite you to support this wonderful non-profit: Playground Ideas and buy some tickets for their "Year of Awesome" fundraiser so they can help build more playgrounds for kids in developing countries. The Year of Awesome is all about experiences not stuff. Experiences for families to come together and have fun together or learn something new. We have donated a family class to the value of $450 and there are some amazing other prizes such as a trip to Vietnam. Have a look at their website, buy some tickets - only $5 each - buy heaps - they would make a great present! MORE!
