Regional Gathering - Bookings Now Open

This year's Regional Gathering is a festive affair, taking place at Durham Castle on 13 December 2017.

The event will provide an opportunitiy to network and hear updates from regional and national colleagues, including:

  • Arts Council England
  • Museum Development
  • Museums Association
  • and more!
The day will also include an opportunity to contribute to the national Accreditation review, led by Ellie Collier from Arts Council England.

Date Survey - Thank You!

Thank you to all museums that participated in the Annual Museum Data Survey. This year we had a 79% response rate, improving on last year's result!

A full report will be published on our website here, later in the year.
Northern Museums Volunteer Pass Scheme 2018-20

A reminder that you have until 28 January 2018 to sign up to the Northern Museums Volunteer Pass Scheme for 2018-20.

The scheme is a mutually beneficial partnership between participating museums and entitles volunteers to free entry, and/or other benefits, at participating museums across the North West, North East and Yorkshire and Humberside regions.

Small Grants Scheme - Deadline Extended

Revised deadline: 4 December 2017

We have extended the deadline for this year's Small Grants scheme until Monday 4 December.  The scheme offers two tiers of funding, with grants of up to £1000 available without match funding and larger grants of between £1000 and £1500 available with a minimum of 10% match funding (cash or in kind).

Accreditation Review FAQ

Arts Council England (ACE) have published some frequently asked questions to help you understand the Museum Accreditation Scheme review.

There will be an opportunity to feed in to the review at our Regional Gathering event in December and there is a feedback survey available to complete here.  The survey will close on Thursday 7 December.

In the meantime, if you have any further questions that aren't covered by the FAQs, please email Ellie Collier, Senior Manager for the review, at review.accreditation@artscouncil.org.uk.

Conservation Advisory Network (CAN) Update

There is now a new point of contact for CAN and we are pleased to welcome Heather Richardson as the new regional conservator. Heather is based at The Bowes Museum and works Monday - Wednesday.
