Hosted at North Queensland’s first and only distillery and one of the premier attractions on the Atherton Tablelands, Mount Uncle Distillery. Hear from incredible speakers throughout the day including guest speaker Sam Tretheway.
$60 per person includes, lunch, afternoon tea, a sunset drink and dinner. (Startup Tablelands Members $30)

Sam has worked in agriculture for over 15 years and now manages SproutX, the industry Accelerator for Australian agriculture.
His exceptional comprehension of Australian agriculture, investment, Agtech, and food & fibre production has assisted him to build a broad portfolio of experience which includes:
– Building Australia’s first Agtech Accelerator, co-working space and ecosystem
– Agribusiness advisor to CEO’s
– Developed export strategy for food businesses into Asia
– Developed digital and profile-raising strategies for agribusiness clients in Australia and NZ
– Executive Masters in Business Administration from Bond University (E-MBA)
Sam is a passionate entrepreneur with extensive experience across agricultural production in Australia and overseas, one of his current roles is helping start-ups and Agritech entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

With over 20 years in the innovation ecosystem, Cameron is an experienced professional who has assisted the private sector, research organisations and not for profit clients across all stages of the business life-cycle.

He has successfully worked with:
• Inventors, Start-Ups and SMEs’ with business model development, commercialisation strategy and capital raising
• Research Organisations looking to commercialise research and build collaborations with Industry
• N4P’s seeking commercial success and sustainability
Steve Tiley is North Queensland’s horticulture industry innovation coach and brings many years of business development, production management, logistics, engineering and research knowledge.

Kay is the Regional Manager in Northern Queensland for AusIndustry.

Kay has worked in a variety of business development roles at Federal, State and Local government levels.

As Regional Manager Kay works with businesses to facilitate the uptake of programs delivered by AusIndustry and stakeholder agencies.

Prior to working for government Kay was a partner in a software development and IT support company for six years.

AusIndustry is a specialist program delivery division within the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.

Andrew is the Senior Advisor Economic Development at Tablelands Regional Council.

He has five university qualifications and over twenty years experience in sales, marketing, economic and business development and senior management across both the private and public sectors.

Andrew is also an Australian Certified Economic Development Practitioner, and is an Australian Certified Business Advisor.

The second Australian Future Agro Challenge which will take place on Saturday, 18th November, 2017.  The Australian winner will win flights and accommodation to attend the Future Agro Challenge (FAC) Global Championships which will occur during the Global Agripreneurs Summit in April 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey.  


As the world's leading competition, FAC mobilises local communities all over the world to discover innovative and fundable ventures in food, agtech and agriculture, addressing national, regional and global challenges.

Selected agripreneurs will gain access to world class mentors, investors, potential clients, and new market opportunities.

  • Founders should be proficient in the English language and have no hesitancy to talk about your venture in public
