International Colloquium on Black Males in Education

This is your invitation to submit a proposal to present at the Fifth Annual International Colloquium on Black Males in Education. The Colloquium provides a forum for top researchers, high-impact practitioners, policy makers, funders, and students from across the globe to share their knowledge and perspectives, as well as to learn from global research strategies that inform education policies and programs on Black males in education.

"Educational Transitions and Life Trajectories: Bridging Pathways to Success for Black Males" is the theme of this year's Colloquium. Requests for proposals of manuscripts, round tables, or posters (students only) are currently being accepted. All proposals must be received by Monday, July 11, 2016. Please see the attached PDF of the Invitation to Participate for submission requirements, evaluation criteria, and important deadlines.  Invited participants are strongly encouraged to secure resources to support the travel and participation of at least two undergraduate or graduate students who would benefit from attending the Colloquium.

In partnership with Bermuda College, this year's Colloquium will be held October 4-7, 2016, on the beautiful Atlantic island of Bermuda. The Colloquium offers a diverse array of programs that serve to elicit intellectual thought, discussion, and ideas that can be implemented to serve and improve the experiences of Black males throughout the World. These activities allow participants to interact with peers from other institutions and develop a global network of contacts.

The Fairmont Southampton, with its stunning pink sand beach, is the Official Colloquium Headquarters Hotel and is offering a discounted rate beginning at US$211 exclusive of taxes and fees. If you would like to arrive early or extend your stay in Bermuda, discounted pre- and post-Colloquium weekend hotel rates begin at $179. Hotel reservations should be made via the Colloquium Hotel Reservation Link.

Please forward this message and the attachment to anyone who may be interested in presenting at the Colloquium.
