Olmos Dam Stabilization
Aggregate Technologies Inc. has done its part to keep San Antonio residents safe from future floodwaters. ATI contributed its core drilling expertise to a $4 million upgrade of Olmos Dam in Bexar County. Crews from ATI drilled more than 100 holes, each 18 inches wide and four feet deep, with 36 inch wide by 6 inch deep overdrill holes. Spaced at six-foot intervals along the face of the dam, which slopes at a 45-degree angle, the holes are used for soil stabilization anchors, strengthening the dam’s bond with the bedrock below. Visit the web page for pictures and video of this project.
ATI Helps Emily Hughes
Emily Hughes is a 16-year old with A-T (ataxia-telangiectasia), a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disease. She recently got a new power wheel chair, but the driveway of her house was too narrow and cracked to easily navigate. Ronnie Wills and Aggregate Technologies stepped in with demolition and removal the old driveway at no charge to the Hughes Family. A Charity Golf Scramble benefiting Emily will be held April 6 at Blackhorse in Cypress, Texas. Visit the web site for more information on this event and A-T.
