The group of JHUSON faculty and students arrived in Port au Prince, Haiti, the afternoon of October 7th, 2017. They traveled by bus to the southwest of the country and up into the mountains. The JHUSON group consisted of five NP students (Felicia Cordy, Shannon Woodson, Kathleen Vitulli, Kathleen Lavoie, and Anita Kellogg and four faculty (Drs. Debbie Busch, Vickie Hughes, Jennifer Trautmann, and Sloand). They were a part of a multidisciplinary team that provided primary health care services to the people in the rural mountainous region. The group was excited, well prepared, enthusiastic, and ready to work. Of note, this is the 16th year that the JHUSON has participated in this particular medical mission in Leon.
